-- Learning to Ride Experience --
I am completely new to riding and I thought the learning experience would have been a lot harder. I was very surprised at how easy and fast I was able to learn. Go through the motions I talk about in the video and you should be able to ride anywhere from 1 to 5 days. Inmotion has done a great job with the V8S and I can only imaging their higher end EUCs are probably even more fun to ride!

There’s a magic thing that happens when you practice new euc skills…your muscles grow and remember. The next day, you will be shocked at the progress. This cycle never stops so long as you keep practicing new skills.

Same wheel... first two weeks didn't work at all, then it went fast. Perhaps due to stresses, I began to feel all my muscle tension when studying, this did not allow me to be relaxed and maintain balance. But it turned out to be excellent medicine :). Now I usually drive 20-40 km a day.

Didn't have such case protection for my V8S, instead I used the belt as a leash which helped prevent scratches, then put it away when I didn't need it. I also taped the top of the headlight a little so as not to blind pedestrians. Added: If someone will take this method with a leash, be sure to deactivate protective button in the handle (in app), otherwise there is a danger of pressing it while standing on the wheel!

Dude! Congrats on your progress and tenacity. I learned to ride a pedal unicycle when I was in my forties and it took me much, much longer to learn than what you did. I got to where my son and I rode unicycles in parades and am getting ready to get him a Euc and will see how it goes and I might give it a modest try as well. Thanks for sharing and best of luck!

That's awesome! You should have no problems. It's a lot of fun. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

It took me a couple months to ride mine. I finally opened it up and realized a bolt was off. It meant I was having to shift 90% of my weight to one side. I was just learning so I didn’t know there was a problem. I attached it and could ride immediately.

@@spiderwayne yeah they get bounced around a lot in shipping. Might be a good idea for people to open it up and tighten everything. Honestly I’ve had mine a couple years. (Love it) but I’ll need to tighten everything annually to make sure. It a good wheel but checking them is better than eating dirt.

Good progress, but it would have helped to have started off in a larger area, such as a near empty outdoor parking lot. You mentioned more speed at the start and that is the key. I started with a similar V8F, and was able to ride slow after 15 minutes, but at slow speed and constantly twisting my V8F side to side for balance and direction, similar to riding a bicycle at very slow speed (I could do a track stand on a bike, steer for balance while not moving). I did a 30 minute session first day at a tennis court and spent 15 minutes the next day before moving to an outdoor parking lot, where I discovered my V8F became stable at around 7 to 8 mph, I no longer had to make any balance corrections, and could literally stand still while riding in a straight line. Nothing had clicked, I was just riding fast enough for my V8F to become stable, similar to riding a bike with no hands requires sufficient speed. What will take longer to learn is coordinating how much to tilt the EUC to steer, and how much to lean for balance. At around 15 mph, the EUC will be tilted a bit less than the rider leans, and this difference increases with more speed. One drill you could do on the street would be to lean to the side a bit, then tilt the V8S to that side enough to straighten back up, weaving side to side as you go down the street. Next extend the weave by tilting just enough to hold the lean angle for a bit, then tilting more to straighten up, and at various speeds. This teaches how to coordinate tilt and lean, and also to tilt in the direction of imbalance if disturbed such as a gusting crosswind.

I'm using my old V8 to learn to ride backwards. Getting back on it from a Nik+, it's still a surprisingly good wheel. Just don't lean forward like on a Nik, lol.

Great Job learning EUC riding. Looking forward to more EUC adventuring.. The Wall Trick helps alot in the beginning. Inmotion has a new beginner EUC "E30". With dual wheels to stabilize the EUC for beginners. It's inexpensive at $399. I'm eating the Inmotion V12 line at the moment. Just wish it came with a side cover like the V8 & V11 line. The V11 cover might fit over the V12, who knows.

The V8 was my first wheel. Just be careful with pot holes, big cracks, and metal grates in the road. I've crashed a few times overpowering the unicycle while riding over them.
