Yes I do. The technology cycle on a good professional grade camera like this one is much longer than most technologies we’re used to. It’s not like a cell phone that’s outdated in a year.

Ive been thinking about getting a camera system for a while I had previously been looking at DIY systems, but the only ones i could find that seemed to meet my requirements had mixed reviews (which made me think twice about it) From what i can tell, it seems as though a system like this might meet my requirements, although i am not sure if there are any dealers where i live The requirements i have for a camera system are as follows: (I’m including this since i have been known to miss things in videos) Must be hardwired (no wireless cameras) Must use local storage Must function without internet, including being able to view footage (our internet has been unreliable in the past, there was even one time when we went 36 hours without internet) Being able to access the footage from a PC on the network preferred, but not essential Being able to access the footage from outside the network (via a smartphone app or whatever) not required And you would probably be surprised by how few cameras we would need (unless we decided to have cameras inside the house as well) And speaking of cameras, my sister recently purchased a cheap camera for her yard (we live in terraced houses, my sister lives next door (quite literally), the terraced houses have a small yard at one side, and with my sisters house and our house, the yard side is the side we use as the front, even though it’s technically the back, my sister has a box in her yard for delivery people to leave parcels in, she recently got us a box specifically designed for parcels (which has a flap where the delivery person can deposit parcels into it, and a lockable door at the bottom to retrieve them from), and she is thinking of getting herself one as well (the one she currently has is just a standard storage box), and she got the camera to keep an eye on the parcel box)

Was browsing KZbin looking for information on NVR and Apple Security integration and found your channel - breath of fresh air! You have a new subscriber based in Japan! Still checking your videos but would love to see if there is a NVR system you recommend that you can buy in Asia, works with Apple Homekit and has the ability to save data to a Synology NAS. Currently using Synology surveillance station which is great but would love it if it could integrate with Apple.
@GeorgeLangabeer2 жыл бұрын
Hello Japan! Thanks for subscribing! I appreciate the kind words. Unfortunately, I don’t have a good answer for you on either front. 1. I haven’t heard of any specific systems worth recommending that you can buy in Asia. 2. HomeKit isn’t happening on a NVR without HomeBridge or Hoobs (or something equivalent) and even then, your options are limited. Wish I had a better answer for you.

I just Found your channel tonight and I love the information. Can you please do a video on how to connect these POE cameras to each other? Looking at the connector on the back of the camera, it makes it look like I would need to make a pretty massive hole in my house. I don't know, maybe half an inch hole? Any help or explanation on this? I would greatly appreciate it. And can you also add a price to this system? I'm interested in a channel, thank you.

This is a great video, however with a hard wired camera, you have to run a cable from the camera and I want more of a clean look. Something where you don't see any cable at all, especially if the cameras are at the top of your house, what would you suggest?

I just found your channel as I am also a big Apple guy and am now in the market to make my home a smart home due to a serious auto accident my family and I sustained. I am decided to use Apple’s HomeKit as my platform. I am looking for smart locks, doorbells, and outdoor security cameras and spotlights. I wanted to know if the this POE camera you recommend can be viewed and used through HomeKit and if so how?
@GeorgeLangabeer2 жыл бұрын
Not natively unfortunately. I plan on testing it using HomeBridge or Scrypted & we’ll see how it goes. But wired camera systems don’t tend to work as you want using them that way (at least with HomeBridge). I have not tried Scrypted, but plan to.

I see Reolink has 8 and 12 mp cameras out now, is 4mp as good as Alibi has? Also if the LED light fails can those be repaired or do you have to buy a new camera, I know companies say LED last for like 10,000 hours but I buy LED's for home lighting all the time , they aren't as reliable as they claim.

Alibi has had 8MP & 12MP cameras for quite awhile now. But for the price they aren’t necessary on an average home. Alibi blows Reolink out of the water.

There is a cloud option for backup recordings, but it’s not required. You don’t need any type of subscription to view them remotely. They come with local storage & they are remote viewable out of the box.

@GeorgeLangabeerАй бұрын
No, it is not. Alibi hasn’t had anything to do with Hikvision since 2018 when Hikvision was banned by the U.S. Government. This Alibi Vigilant system I’m talking about is 100% NDAA compliant. Hikvision is not. I wouldn’t sell anything Hikvision for that very reason.

Are the Alibi systems on Adorama's website actually Alibi cameras systems and if yes,are those prices in the ballpark of what the systems would cost?

No, they are not. If you see an Alibi system online, it is their low level end user stuff & not nearly the quality of their dealer stuff. The Alibi equipment I’m talking about is not online. It’s dealer exclusive.

Hey I’m new to the channel. Can you explain what a “drug dealer camera” is?
@GeorgeLangabeer Жыл бұрын
Back in the day, it was a joke in the law enforcement world that only drug dealers had cameras on their house. If you had cameras on your house, you were asking to get watched by the police. When a person did have cameras, they were cheap junk…that’s where the term came from. Nowadays, that’s changed & everyone has cameras. But I still use the term for the cheap local retailer junk cameras. Those cameras being: Swan, Lorex & Night Owl.

I’ve watched that video in slow motion. He hits the camera. Plus, that is an old video with an older covered dome camera. I’ve done this bat demo several times myself (for my customers-at my showroom) with the newer turret dome cameras. I can assure you from personal experience, they easily withstand the bat test. The camera in my video is 20 times more durable than the camera in the bat swinging video. It’s an entirely different style of camera. If you truly watched it and paid attention, you’d see that. Of all the information in my video, it’s unfortunate that’s all you have to comment about…🤔hmmmmmm indeed. But hey, thanks for watching & thanks for the comment.
