I recently found out my IE800 were really good quality counterfeit. This was confirmed by Sennheiser technician. There is no way a layman can spot the difference between genuine and fake, so be cautious when buying these from other sources than authorised Sennheiser dealer. For example, Sennheiser does not sell anything on eBay. My fake IE800 even passed Sennheiser online authentication. More details on head-fi.org
@sparkcakes5 жыл бұрын
If they only cost 30$ I'm not complaining. Also have very good counterfeits. I have an original sennheiser over ear headphone and the sound quality is nearly the same for me. So I'm not complaining 😂

Hi +hifiguy528! I need some advice on a pair of Earphones.. I am trying to decide between the Bose QC 20i and the Sennhieser IE80s... I travel around a lot... Which is mainly the time when I listen to my music... I am not an Audiophile or anything but I don't like my music experience to be disturbed by Traffic noise and stuff... I also like Bass... Not overpowering though.. Can you please give your opinion on this..? Thanks in Advance!!
@user-jk2zb8uc5y10 жыл бұрын
The Sennheiser IE80's will do you better. I have recently owned a pair of qc20's and now have a pair of IE60's (yeah lower end model but same noise isolation on the spec list). The QC20's had better noise isolation, but it was so good the sometimes I couldn't hear cars when walking outside with them. I took these with me on a trip last month, and I can tell you the IE60's blocked out engine noise great. The main turnoff for me with the QC20's were the weird mid emphasis. I'm not an audiophile just like you, but I could even notice how a lot of higher instruments sounded muffled and unnatural. The IE60's were much more neutral, spacious sounding, and had a nice deep bass that you could feel. Hope this helps :D
@bipinchandra808010 жыл бұрын
Obviously Barnacles Nerdgasm Thanks a lot man..! I had a few more questions... I don't actually listen to Instruments... Mainly my genre is pop, Dubstep etc... And one thing about the IE80 I am skeptical about are the IN ear tips... I usually am not a fan of these... I actually would avoid such tips... So I am tilting towards the QC 20is.... What's your opinion?
@user-jk2zb8uc5y10 жыл бұрын
Bipin Chandra Oh yeah lol... I almost forgot to mention the amazing comfort of the QC20i... It's hard to explain but they somehow they isolate really well but don't cram in my ears, like any other earphone I've ever had that isolates. One thing that really surprised me was the fact they fit in my ears so perfect. The IE 60's fit good too, but I notice some people I lend them to don't have the best experience... My girlfriend actually get them in ears at all! My recommendation would be to try the ie80's in store and see if they're comfortable at all. If you can't, just go for the QC20's, they'll suit your needs fine plus I'm almost certain they will be comfortable. Tell me what you going to get!
@bipinchandra808010 жыл бұрын
Obviously Barnacles Nerdgasm Thanks a lot for your advice man! I think I'll go in with the Bose QC 20i... As i wouldn't be able to test the Sennheisers... And I don't seem to like the idea of IN ear headphones... So I think the QC 20s suit me better..

Have you tried them both and compared them?
@snikersnack10 жыл бұрын
derbigpr500 no but if I have to buy one of them I'd go with the shure. The is 800 have to many drawbacks for me to buy, there cable is not detachable there ear tip can fall of way to easily and more..... If you want to buy a good pare of in ears toy should look for the se 846, the grado gr10 or Etymotic ER4PT if you want something cheaper
@ernestryles10 жыл бұрын
if you're willing to spend this much money on an IEM, I personally see no reason to get a CIEM. You can get a great sounding custom like the 1964ears v6 for $650, and they're a great sounding custom IEM. Plus, there are tons of other ciem options out there from a ton of companies, all of which will provide an unmatched level of comfort and isolation, much greater than that of auniversal IEM.

Just got mine and so far... IE 800 has a fantastic, wide soundstage and (dynamic) driver design makes it very interesting but the product is ruined by poor cable implementation. Main cable is too short to be put over the ears and even shortish to hang straight down, below your chin, thanks to extension cable connector. Also, said extension is somewhat unnecessary* and 3.5/2.5 connector generates terrible microphonic noise, especially due to sturdy cable material. In practise you cannot use IE 800 on the go. Even though I already knew this while purchasing, it still came as a surprise. * Sennheiser remote RCS800 is supposedly available at some point Pros: + Soundstage + Driver design + Housing and material + Weight Cons: - Poor cable design / extension cable and 3.5/2.5 connector = microphonics, i.e. not on the go - Proprietary eartip design = not possible to use 3rd party eartips w/o heavy modification - No extras, just set of buds, i.e. no airplane adapter, 6.3 jack, pouch - Carrying case is too bulky considering it's capacity, i.e. useless

Why would anyone spend this money on a pair of in ear headphones that don't even have a detachable cable. Seriously now they will probably last a year before the wire in the cable is damaged, and I don't care what material the wire is made from, the metal inside is still vulnerable to damage.

What earbuds should offer our detachable wires for easy replacement at that price range it's too easy for cables to get shorted and stop working and have to worry about the horseshit of soldering or possibly a complete loss of your your ear buds. I've always thought that about Elise the mid and high and your phones 300 and up you should have either a screw in module or an unplugged Jack like a breakaway cable if need be at least if you can rescue the buds and replace the wire your investment to last you
