Actually in my cabinet maker days, we would have. A straight edge to line the hinges (or tuners) then mark the screw holes. Nice and straight

I think it sounds great! I’ve got a Chartin om28 John Mayer. Got over a year ago. Finally put good strings on it and oiled the fretboard and man it sounds so good! Just ordered a Chibson j200. Can’t wait to get it

Looks good and sounds very J200-like. I understand the price point will impact how much work is put into the guitar, but I'd be willing to forego some of the aesthetics and pay more for things you can't see, but which impact tone and longevity, like shaping/shaving/lightening the top's bracing to get a balance of tone/strength, running the top/back bracing all the way under the kerfing (which must be cut to accommodate that), and having a bridge plate on the inside, under the bridge, where the string heads apply their pressure. Won't take too many string changes before the heads chew through the top, rather than through a replaceable bridge plate, as on most guitars. I do appreciate the look inside!

Thanks man! On this guitar I wanted to see what the Chinise could do regarding the aesthetics and visual look. But if you want to customize your guitar and focus on how it is built I think that would be possible. Just contact a builder (I always recommend Cathy) and present them with your specs and they will tell you what they can and cannot do. Then ask to be involved in each step. Good luck if you decide to take the plunge!

Why did you decide to not go nitro? That and the fret job are my biggest wants. The fret job done by Cathy on her stock guitars is my biggest concern since I;m scared to fix it myself.

Well, I asked for nitro but she didn’t want to do it. But I’ve ordered one more acoustic since this one and that one she’s gonna do in nitro. So if you decide to get a j-200 ask for nitro and she probably will do it. I have not experienced any fret issues with Cathys guitars. I think your good. 🤘

I want the black LP with P90s pretty bad. I've got a real gibson SG that I dropped used gibson p90s in. It sounds good but not crazy good. I don't think I'd pay for brand new Gibson pickups either. My favorite pickups are from Brandonwound Pickups. Boutique pickups at Duncan prices. They replaced a set of Lollars in my LPC. I got the JP#1 set but they have several great options. And custom work too.

Hi Mattias, Thanks for the link. The "contact seller" does not connect, and I don't see any guitars listed for sale on either site. I'll keep trying day to day and see if I can make contact. I'd like to make contact to order up a 1960 Les Paul Special in TV Yellow. I have a complete set of Gibson blueprints for someone to build a well crafted one piece neck and body husk as I have all the Gibson, CTS, etc. parts to complete the guitar. I've been through 3 builders so far, and none have instilled any confidence.

@guitarman3968 So do you support corporate interests or the rights of the people? You see, trademarks are a thing of commerce and commercial use. For personal use they have no bearing. Here in the USA. We have the Lanham Act that protects corporations from stealing other corporate trademarks. But it also stops corporate interests from dictating what the private citizen can purchase regardless of the trademark. Even if it is infringed upon by another corporation. In China the rules are simply different. It's a whole different country. If the Department of Justice didn't have the Lanham Act to protect private citizens from individual choice to have any logo or tradmark they want. Then it would be a crime to even draw a Trademark. Personal use of a trademark is protected under the 1st Amendment. No matter how confusing it may be. If you can't have a personal guitar that has any trademark you want , or chose to purchase for personal use, then you can't have a picture on your wall that may say Gibson or Fender. You couldn't even use one of their logos accidentally in a picture without breaking the law if this was the case. So yes for personal use it is totally moral and ethical, regardless of what you have been told. Exercising your rights is the most moral and ethical thing anyone can do. If you don't like it take it up with the Department of Justice. They are the ones who made the interpretation of the Lanham Act. And yes even counterfeits are even covered for personal use under the Lanham Act. Unless you are engaging in commercial use. There is nothing wrong with it at all. You may not like that they do it, but it has no legal burden on the public. Other countries have different rules. A good example is The fake Gibson James Hetfield flying V that is his favorite guitar. It's a Japanese knock off that has A Gibson logo. Even though he uses the guitar as a means to make money, it is in fact his personal guitar, it's even shown in his book Messengers very proudly. Is he morality and ethically wrong? Slash's favorite guitar Jessica is a fake Gibson with a Gibson logo. Built here in the USA without permission from Gibson. The builder is now dead. Slash used the guitar live and recorded much of AFD with it. Was it morally and ethically wrong? Gibson liked his copy so much that they made a copy of the copy to save the company from bankruptcy. Was that morally and Ethically wrong?
