At the end of Cuckoo's tutorial he talks about how much room is left over for expansion. Since they renamed slice to grid I believe it is implied that they'll eventually introduce an engine called chop. Also holding out for a poly engine but knowing Elektron it will never happen based on principal 🤣 great video, please make some moee!

What’s the clicking that’s throughout the video when playing the digitakt?

Kalimba sample playing through Werp engine causes that I guess, as individual slices are not snapped to zero crossing

Nachdem ich ein bischen mehr Zeit damit verbracht habe wird's eine Review geben. Syntakt hat mir nicht gefallen…Rytm hat coole Performance Funktionen, aber ich bin mehr auf Samples fixiert…

I am 50:50 if getting this or the old one second hand for less than half price (they are dropping them like its hot:) i was waiting with getting one since I knew they are cooking something new. But I am a bit underwhelmed tbh. The only two things that got me psyched are bigger storage (1gb is pathetic) and comb filter. Great wideo btw, like always.

I mean, if you get a super-good deal you can always resell the DT1 later on, once the frenzy has stopped. That being said, I think the DT2 already has quite a lot of extra features that make it worth it…and I'm sure there's a lot more to come. Having 16 tracks, more than 1000 sample slots per project, better time-stretch, longer sample time, stereo samples…makes a big difference!

I'm sorry man 😅 On another note, of course you can already do most of what this does on your devices… So this is more for exploring a different workflow, more tactile and limited than current MPCs.

@SONWU yea, MPC is my go-to because it's so powerful as a standalone, but honestly compared to my 404 which is more taktile imo the MPC is just tedious and boring to navigate. So new taktile workflows are definitely what intrigue me.

@@LiftedNoise Understandable…it's hard to make any recommendations. BUT, in the frenzy many people are selling their DT 1 for very cheap it seems. You could get one of those to test the workflow and see if you like it, or not (and sell at no loss later on, as prices settle again). Also DT 1 + SP 404 could make a great combo…just brainstorming here. Or just get the DT 2 and enjoy the full power :D

Completely different workflow but at this new price point we’re getting close to Deluge pricing, which is a much more powerful device. Still, I love Elektron’s workflow and I’ve never touched a deluge but I’m sour about the slicing… all the new machines actually, they all sound like garbage IMO, they all just stutter and make everything clicky. Which can be cool at times but that’s just luck of the draw.

Sehe ich das richtig, KEIN Monosampling mehr? Kein umwandeln der Stereodatei in Mono? Keine Möglichkeit zu wählen welchen Kanal L/R ich abspielen möchte. Was ist mit dem Panning, ist das überhaupt Panning oder wird der jeweils andere Kanal nur leiser gedreht? Alter, ich hab richtig schlechte Laune, hatte die Kiste grade mal 15 Min am laufen, wollte sampeln und dann das. Geht zurück und wird erst gekauft, wenn das behoben wurde, HALLO, wir haben 2024 🤦🏼‍♂️ Das konnte eine graue Blechkiste aus den 90' sogar. Und was ich auf jeden Fall NICHT machen werde ist, mit einem Gerät das autark arbeiten sollte, da Sampler, meine Monosamples per Computer auf die Kiste laden😂, wie behindert ist das bitte🤦🏼‍♂️☠️

@@Rareos ,ok, so I'm in with a monocable, left entrance. Was only recorded on the left, in mono then, but far too quiet. If it is then caught up and normalized in the DT, that will unfortunately also be noisy. I can't do anything with that. Or how else do you think it works?

It's really a matter of taste, give them a try and see if you like the workflow. They do seem limited but the more time you spend on them, the more possibilities you discover. I've never ran into dealbreakers perse. I sold my octatrack mk1 for the digitakt 2. so way less precise slicing options, but the workflow and the abilitiy to sketch out ideas on the digitakt is really unparalleled for me.
