I thought I was watching a Natasha Newton video when you started swatching!! I love the cad free yellow idea, I didn't even know it existed! Lovely video as usual... :)

Just watching you swatch shows me how deliberate your strokes are. You’re not randomly going back and forth with the brush, like I have a tendency to want to do. Thanks!

Thank you for this lovely swatching video! It is so nice to see new colors and hear a little about how artists like yourself experience them (especially your more in depth vidoes on your palettes). I know this isn't the right video to coment this in but I'm not sure how often you check in on your older videos like changes in the granulation palette. I just wanted to tipp you about Schminke just releasing some new colors for their super granulation series, among them a true yellow (PY159) and a true red (PY108 cadmium red) in the volcano series. I know you were looking for a yellow and red for the palette (if my mind isn't too scrambled), maybe they can fill a missing spot.
@SarahNewburyArt2 жыл бұрын
Hi Linda! Thank you for your lovely comment and for telling me about the new super granulating colours. You are quite right with what I was looking for so I am definitely interested in the volcano series and will keeping my eyes open for their release! Take care 😊

Update! I've just been on Jackson's and the super granulation sets are on promotion, even the new ones so I have ordered the volcano set! 😀Thanks again! Sarah

How wonderful! I hope to see if there is any palette updates, it is always exciting to see how others build their colors. I am trying to make my own granulating palette at the moment, man it's complicated. So much respect for you and other artists building their own palette.

Permanent magenta is a Winson and newton all time fav of mine. I am very happy to hear that you are going to use the video idea of cotman vs pro winsor and newton. 2 things I think would help you gain popularity would be shortening your vid by just couple minutes, have the most time of ur vid be like 12 to 13 minutes. Also posting more then once a month would definitely help, after covid goes away I think it would be possible for you. Like always amazing vid

The Ocean Grey looks lovely and I’m really tempted to get it. Quin Burnt Orange is one of my favourite colours and it makes fantastic neutral colour shades mixed with Daniel Smith’s Indanthrone Blue! 🧡💙

I don’t have the Mijello airtight palette but I recently bought a small Masterson’s with the sponge and palette paper. I’ll tell you what, the Masterson’s is a game changer for acrylic gouache and acrylics!! If you do it right (soak the palette paper in hot water for 30 minutes and wring out the sponge thingy at least halfway) it keeps acrylics from drying on the palette 100%! Zero. Not even a film on top of the paint. It’s amazing. I can actually enjoy using my acrylic gouache instead of fighting with it.

@@SarahNewburyArt It’s huge. I actually enjoy working in mediums I use to hate. Plus, I’m not wasting paint like I was before (which added to the dislike.) They’re still not my favorite but they’re not sitting in a box unused like before.

Hi Helen! Thanks for another beautiful video. Regarding the Cadmium-free Yellow, I suggest that you check Kimberly Krick’s channel; she tested all the cadmium-free paints and found them to be fugitive. I thought I should let you know so that you would make your own tests or use them carefully.

I do enjoy your videos. I have gotten into trouble with my attitude about Dan Smith products of late. I believe they have been horrible in deceiving their customers and environmentally irresponsible as well. I have purchased their products in the past but NEVER AGAIN! I have the Neocolor II's and I love them! I await your use of the Neocolor I's and I hope it goes well! I have almost stopped buying any other brand but DaVinci professional paints. I did recently buy some handmade watercolors from A.Gallo paints from Italy very beautiful paints but small productions and no long term testing they are only for fun and not doing paintings for sale. NOT because they are inferior but since they did not pay for that expense testing they do not have that "official" stamp from ASTM and the rest of those alphabet companies, I can not guarantee my paintings for customers. Sometimes I just do not care if my paintings last beyond my life! There is joy in painting and sometimes you just gotta do something for yourself! Sorry for the tirade I do like your presence and videos even if I disagree with the paint company, everyone has reasons for making their purchases. I do wish you only good things, All the best to you and yours.

I wish I could get the Da Vinci paints more easily over here as I'd like to try them but they just don't seem to be available. As for the A Gallo paints, they look lovely but are hugely expensive and sell out in a flash! I can still enjoy watching other artists use them though! Looking forward to using the Neocolor I pastels and glad to hear you love the Neocolor II. Take care 😊

My reply seem to have disappeared. I just wanted to give you a tip Sarah that you can get Da Vinci paint in UK through Lawrence art supplies. I have experienced and heard that comments dissappear sometimes on KZbin. Maybe it is because I shared a link in my previous comment. I'll share the link to the store in a new comment and see if it works this time.

Thanks for sharing all these goodies!! I was so interested to see how the Molotow Natural White turned out for you, I purchased this color back in a previous Jackson's haul of mine and it was watery and transparent (and continues to be) I was shocked to see how lovely it could be from your swatch and think now that I must have gotten a dud 😢. That Ocean Grey is so beautiful, I love how it dried in the end. Thoroughly enjoyed this calm and lovely haul, thanks 💕

I have alot of hair loss and breakage with the black velvet brushes. Enough that its really annoying constantly finding pieces of hair in the paint and on the paper. Does anyone else have this issue ?

I’ve had my SBV brushes for about 5 years now and have only just noticed shedding and breakage, and only in my size 10 and 12 rounds. I’m curious too if anyone else has noticed this.
