I'd be terrified to actually play with this. Its so finely detailed. Too expensive glass if piece gets knocked over would be stressful lol.

How is the quality? What are the pieces made up of?

Quality is great and I'm really happy with it. Pieces are made from pewter and really heavy. The board is very heavy too and very nicely done.

The squares are visible, no problem there, but the pieces are difficult to remember which is what haha.

Such a wonderful chess set, but I have no idea how to play it. Squares are hardly seen, maybe because of KZbin. The pieces are so beautifully made. Don’t they distract you from playing?

The squares are very visible irl. Just take it step by step, buy a how to play chess book, for example. ;-)
