the new cage looks great and was assembled pretty easily , it' unfortunate that it's not as well made as the hamster heaven cage but it is larger . i had hamster heaven cages for all my hamsters but have moved on to the zoozone2 cage [ same size as the plaza cage but with a plastic canopy and no bars ] .i like how you set up the cage and there is plenty space for all the things to keep hammy occupied .

i have the savic plaza for my syrian, i got a 28cm wooden wheel for her so the one that came with the cage is being used as a little beech chip dig box lmao

This cage is a great option for those who can spend the extra money but can't make DIY. You have a great set up so far, and the sand is also used by hamsters as a litter box like cats do! They love sand but be careful don't buy any with color dye or calcium I would get just regular plain sand. Reptisand is a great option if you can get it :)

I would use dust free fluffy bedding instead of wood shavings. wood shavings and chips have dust and give hamsters resperatory problems. plus fluffy bedding makes it easy for hamsters to burrow. they love digging under the bedding. your next hamster cage should also have atleast 6 inch lip for ample bedding for burrowing. usually hamsters will stress out if they can't burrow and will bite the cage bars. other then that.. what you have is pretty good.

Thank you for your comment but I am already aware of this as I have been keeping hamsters for years. The bedding is aubiose which is a dust free hemp bedding - perfect for burrowing. And there was at least 6 inches of bedding👍

with your door left closure clip why don't you grab a pair of pliers and just bend it further around to enable it to better grab the bar it's trying to hook on to. I have the opposite problem with my door on my plaza, it's too tight and I really struggle. I have tried to loosen a bit but I'm happy my door is tight. but this is a really great idea of using the clip. I like your wooden side platform. I used 2 corner platforms for a while. but I have a very nervous boy who lept off the top platform one day. so I removed them. but my lil guy is a burrower and prefers to be under ground. so that's the way I've tried to go . this was a great video thanks for posting. I'm a new hamster owner with a savic plaza and surprised how few videos there are on this cage set up. thanks for yours

Today I’ve taken my hammy out of the Savic Sky Metro and I’ve put her in a 145 ltr bin cage. She is a senior hamster who struggles to get around platform’s and tubes. That Plaza looks like a decent size cage. I really want a Living World Eco Habitat enclosure for her but I’ve only just come across them and they don’t seem to be available anywhere. Oh and that squeak the wheel made I know all to well 😂. My last hammy had the wheel temporarily until I got a bigger one and I remember laying in bed listening to that squeal thinking OMG what the F*** is that noise 😂. My water bottle also leaked on the Savic Sky Metro. (My little mate is a Syrian ham)

Very small robo hamsters may be able to escape this cage. I have a russian dwarf which is bigger and he tries to get through the cage we have which is the bigger one again village 80 with smaller distance between the bars, which we have connected to a smaller cage we have which also enhances the living space.
