Man, I just gotta tell you one thing… I have heard about Blood & Plunder game before, but I’ve never seen anyone so excited and pumped up about a game like you. I watched entire video and I literally want to start this hobby. I play bolt action and Middle-earth sbg but this is something in my alley. Keep up your work and you just gained a new follower! One of the big draws of Bolt Action is the activation system. If that is part of what you like about it, you may want to look at Blood & Plunder for its equally different activation system. May turn out not to be your style, but I find it a great system, how you use your cards in opposed activation and choosing who needs more actions vs who needs to go now.

Is there anything in the rule book about the best way to outfit your crews to make two balanced crews? Like how many polearms, rifles, hand weapon and pistols. This will be my first foray into Blood and Plunder, and it will most likely be awhile before I get more crew/factions.

In the rule book it does give you two even force list for both the British and the Pirates. These are both well balled list and will be all you need to have some epic matches. I would also go over to FirelockGames store and check out there force builder which is a free service to build different list options. Another excellent resource is the Blood & Pigment youtube channel they have many videos explaining how to get started in blood plunder as well as building forces.

I am shocked. You may not build the cannons? You aren't going to build them as part of a shipyard warehouse/armoury? I mean, a bunch of muskets, cannons, barrels, and bundles in a large building, making a great objective for a raid. Game one: seize the town. Game two, a few days later: counter attack by neibouring militia and/or regular army. This could make a good three part game, if you had to fight a ship to get into the area first. Naval battle, amphibous assault, then fighting withdrawl, especially if the battles are unbalanced in attacker's advantage, but with persistant losses.

I totally agree, I am sure I will use them for some kind of Terrain piece. Like the objective markers I built on the channel.

Does the 18th century rule book include the no peace beyond the line content?

Not all of it. The factions that are in the raise the black are all the 18th century ones as well as the historical and legendary, commanders, No peace beyond the line has all the 17th century factions and Legendary commanders. There also some different scenarios in Both. If you are playing both time lines it would be helpful to have both, but you do not need no peace beyond the line to play raise the black.

How do the new plastic figures scale with the existing metal figures? Can you use them together?

They fit nicely, when painted I can’t tell them apart. So I would say excellent!

What's the difference between the rule book in the starter set and the Deluxe rulebook? I was wondering if its worth getting the deluxe rule book.

There is quite a big difference between the two, in the deluxe rule book you have all the factions which there is quite a bit at least over 70 in the the one that is in the starter box only has only a few that covers the models in the box which is pirates and The British, there is rule’s for all the new legendary commanders and of course the book is amazing leather bond book! Totally worth every penny!
