There’s one pair of skate shoes I wish I still had and that’s the Ellington double E shoes. That’s all I rode back in the day, my all time favorite shoe.

Those Heretics were the shoe of choice for a couple years at my local. The sports store in town must have got a bulk deal on black ones, they had them forever. They also passed the 'school shoe' test at the local high school, so more than just skateboarders wore them. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Weird only skaters wore emerica where I was at and most of the skaters didn’t, it was just a niche crowd that wore em. The typical baker kids were the only ones who wore emerica, I was one of them lol

Dude you got the Emerica Boss's or the AR slims? Those also had the bling and were my top favorites. I let a friend who sucked at skating borrow my AR slims and he literally ripped a hole in them in a day. I was so pissed. I still don't know how he did it but RIP to him and the shoes.

I think emerica is re releasing the heretic. Out of that catalog, I had the grid( similar to sal 23) and trmpleton1. The templeton was the best shoe ever, below the insole, there was an additional clear gel heal shock absorber, it was inserted into the hard part of the midsole. No heal bruises in those!

@@GoldenEraCollector I think you made a great point before in saying that these companies are sitting on a goldmine in terms of retros, but it does look like some of them are still not interested in or unable to capitalize on that. In your opinion, which are the companies currently being smart on that front and which ones are not? I've been enjoying the classic eS models recently but it definitely seems that there is a lot more room for others. I think both skating and older/bigger skate shoes are on the rise again.

The Reynolds 1s were simply called the Reynolds they're pictured on the shoe ad pamphlet shown near the end of the video... not similar to the 3s at all imo, the 3s are way slimmer and less technical looking... the 3s shred all the excess bulk and gimmicky features for a slimmer and more minimalist and more modern look. The Reynolds 3 could fit right in with modern skate shoes, the Reynolds 1 is a classic puffy shoe featuring a cupsole with heel air bubble plenty of layering and rubber toe cap etc etc vs the Reynolds 3 clean and minimalist aesthetic with its vulc sole and few to no real layering of materials. A Reynolds 3 re-issue would be killer! Don't know If they could ever make it happen now that they booted Reynolds from the company and he's skating for Van's these days but if Emerica could figure out how to re-issue the Johnson 1s and Reynolds 3 they'd for sure fly off shelves.
