--The BN flatcars are _definitely_ part of the warehouse auction, 'cause I won the other pair :D --I was looking at that exact C30-7, but I checked in my archives, and found that I already had Conrail 6600 from the original issue, electronic horn version. You definitely got the better version. I also looked at the undecorated RailKing locos, which were either C630 or SD45's. I only know of one person (via the OGR forum) who won one of those, but he's in Australia, so it'll be awhile before he knows if his is a runner :D --I picked up the 60' TTX flatcar pair with Scaletrax diamond crossings, five unpainted cabooses, and an assortment of photo and decoration samples, approved and rejected, from a RailKing Pennsy 6-car set from 2000, and some Great Northern Premier pieces that might also be part of a freight assortment from around the same time period (my research hasn't gotten to those yet). So, 16 cars in total. --I may go a _teensy_ bit overboard with my recordkeeping, but I tend to print-to-PDF my invoices from the auction and shipping, then merge them into one PDF document with an open-source app NAPS2 (literally, _"Not Another PDF Scanner 2"_ ) along with a copy of the tracking info (I use 17track.net, as it gives you the detailed tracking that UPS/USPS stopped showing on their sites. FedEx still gives you detailed info though). Over the course of several Cabin Fever auctions I get a pretty decent picture of what my shipping costs will be and how long it'll take to ship/arrive. --I've only scored one locomotive from the warehouse auctions, a RailKing "MTH 25th Anniversary" C40-8 in the February '2023 auction. Haven't run it yet, but it is a 3-volt PS-2 unit (I requested some underside photos, and the unit turned out to be pristine), so there's a pretty good chance it's a runner. I bought a BCR to install in place of its battery before any attempts to run it. --As to whether people enjoy seeing busted up stuff being fixed, I know of an HO KZbinr, 'SMT Mainline' who has basically built his channel around fixing up old (mostly low-end) locomotives and rolling stock he gets in box lots off Ebay, and making runners of them.

Agreed! That is a very accurate way to describe it. I'd say I've gotten burned badly on two purchases, but everything else has gone pretty well.

My first MTH engine was the PS1 C30-7 in Conrail that came out within the first couple of years of Mike making his own engines. Even the Railking engine is a big upgrade from those early runs, despite them being top of the line at the time. In those days there was not DCS and no painted handrails.

My first was a PS1 NS SD60. I scrambled the board the first time I powered it up because I thought I was still running HO scale, lol.

@@TheLEMRR yeh. You have to be careful with those PS1 and some of the PS2 engines. Dcc is great since you don’t have batteries etc and can’t really kill it just by making a mistake.

I have several scale-sized locomotives that are RailKing. Since all of our locos and rolling stock are scale sized, I don't have any RK freights. They do make a nice scale-Hi Cube box car if you can find one, though. The RK scale sized cabooses are pretty nice as well.

I still am not having any luck on finding unmarked rolling stock, and what i mean by that is, no road names on the cars and cabooses and only the weight of the car and that stuff can be on it. I hope you understand what I am trying to say brother.

It will be all or nothing, I've never seen any company only paint some of the markings. Microscale makes decal sets - I use them for the crisp logos and data, and paint my own after stripping them down to the bare plastic and repainting.
