Unboxing/Review - UHQR Vinyl Release of Steely Dan's AJA compared to 1st U.S. pressing & Cisco

Excellent review, I just played my Aja UHQR tonight and compared it to my AB1006 original copy on my professionally calibrated audio system . While the original sounds really good ( and very quiet vinyl) m the UHQR version is through the roof. Crisp, clean and open.

I completely agree with your assessment of the AB-1006 vs the Cisco. I sold or gave away all my other copies after getting the Cisco. The UHQR delivered yesterday and I’ll be listing to it for the first time today. I’m pretty excited.

I have a number of UHQR releases & have not been all that impressed. The 'Kind of Blue', to me was not a considerable upgrade (particularly considering the cost) from the 50th Anniv. & Sony Legacy edition. As for the Dan, I have multiple versions of each release & at the high level of expertise they put into these (even the first few), I never thought that one could do much more with them. I have all the UHQR's & they are hands down my favorite of all the UHQR releases. For me, the upgrade is definitive. Really beautiful stuff with the enhanced soundstage, separation, depth, clarity, etc. Absolutely worth the $$$. Thanks for your review.

I have a mint original AB version. It’s great they have a UHQR version. I’ll probably pass. I only have to get up 2 times to listen to it instead of 4!😮

@acedoucet6263 ​@craigaust3306 For you guys that are so critical about this, TRY DOING IT YOURSELF and see how you fair! 😂 Sit at your desk or a table and prop up your smartphone at eye level on a stack of books or CDs and record yourself doing your own private unscripted "review" detailing one of your favorite albums, or record it as if you were going to post it just for your audiophile buddies on FB, etc.... ...in a SINGLE TAKE with No Cuts or Do-Overs, and see just how difficult it is not to muck up your words! Play it back and count the umms, uhhs, pauses, stutters, and mispronounced words. Then STFU.

I believe it was from a copy of the master. So identical. The master is no longer available.
