Looks interesting, and notably different to its competitors in several areas. There are plenty of RCs that have a similar format, it’s kind of amusing that just because the body and name are broadly close to the respective Arrma that people look no further.

I've been saying this since these were first announced. Some of the Arrma guys are just out there, I have seen some saying the new Team Associated Rival MT10 is a copy of the Arrma Granite.............

Oh dear, please tell me that's not true... 🤦🏼♂️ That Rival MT10 is actually the old Helion MT with some minor changes. And those trucks were out long before the Granite 4x4 was even an idea. Haha.

slick2500 you have to remember that such a popular brand as Arrma will attract all kinds of people, some with rather strange views. Why can’t people just be RC fans, and not delineate themselves into blinkered brand warfare eh?

@@AussieRCPlayground I think it was on Jay Tees video where he was showing pictures of the car on the Team Associated website on his computer, some dude seriously replied it looks like an Arrma Granite copy. It’s a new buggy on a tried and true format. It’s not an arrma copy and I appreciate that you have the sense to understand this. Some arrma diehards believe this is an arrma copy? Unbelievable. Can't wait to see this, as the car is on my shopping list. There is a new version of the manual available at world.corally.com The clip at the front holding the body is in fact to hold an optional chassis cover under the body. The ESC is a max8 without restricted setup, only different is you have to use the led program box and not the LCD one, and the WiFi module won't work (hobbywing gotta get a chance to sell upgrades) battery tray is designed to be turned around giving option to use longer battery, but then need to remove the stop, and add longer motor cables. Aluminium 7075 upgrades are on their way, should have been available end march but for obvious reasons being delayed (Ive seen them) 7075 diffs are available now. I had the typhon but sold it, I'm after a track car and not a basher so think this suits me better. ATB /Per FB: team corally bashers

What better way to get people's attention and get them talking? I see it as clever marketing. 😏
@peterronzoni92644 жыл бұрын
To me, this marketing strategy says that the company did not believe they could not carve out a following on their own merits, so they needed to do something clever (tricky) to breakthrough. It’s like when I go to my local convenience store and there is a knock off brand off Coca-Cola. Same red can, same white lettering but in a slightly different font. To me, that says the cola is probably crap and we need to do something desperate to make you buy it
@AussieRCPlayground4 жыл бұрын
That's a more cynical way of looking at it. I'm more of an optimist and like to think they did this play on words as bit of banter or humor while getting people talking about the brand. To imply the car is crap just because of the name is a bit unfair. I'm not saying it's good or bad, I'm simply referring to the name, we will soon see how it compares in due time. 😉

Will be interesting to see how this holds up. Given that the price is in line with Arrma, it's going to need to be at the same level as Arrma. And as you know, Vas, Arrma for many years beat the competition on price, but has raised prices significantly as of late. When you're new, you can't come in at the top of the pricing bracket, which is something Arrma knew well. By the way, as an aside, I don't think the new KZbin rules require the disclaimer you have in your comments section about not made for kids. That's only necessary if your content LOOKS like it's for kids but is actually for adults, like mature cartoons or something to that effect.

@AussieRCPlayground4 жыл бұрын
Give me a break... The only body that looks similar to any of the ARRMA cars is the Dementor, but you can also accuse ARRMA of copying Proline's body on that one and the Badlands tyres on the Notorious/OutCast. None of the other bodies that Corally have done are copied. As for the names, I think that's just clever marketing to get people talking, nothing more. Get over it.

@@AussieRCPlayground hmm mm.. When I saw your thumbnail I have to say that I tought that this buggy looks very similar to a typhon... mainly because of the colors of the body, Red shocks ends and wheel nuts. @99thpeanut594 жыл бұрын
+coolcross look man, hate to say it but you’re clearly not correct in that statement. The only reason you think they look similar is because they’re both 8th scale buggies and they both have red anodized aluminum parts. Arrma didn’t invent the flat planed 8th scale buggy, arrma didn’t invent red anodized aluminum, and arrma was the first to none of those parades.

Looks alright. I'd call it a knockoff myself, but when these cars are at the same price as the "name brand" I myself will probably still buy the tried and true cars.
@AussieRCPlayground4 жыл бұрын
How is it a "knock-off"? The only reason you and a few others say this is because of the name, but had they called it Sally, I bet no one would say that. To me, this just another buggy and there is nothing they've done that would imply they "knocked off" anyone. The name is just a clever way of getting people to notice them, it doesn't mean it's a "knock-off".
@1dickycat4 жыл бұрын
In my opinion, which I'm obligated to have, their whole 1/8 line up is the same as Arrmas. I mean I keep an open mind. They all look like decent vehicles, dont get me wrong. But the Dementor was what finally did it for me. If the python doesn't come off as a typhon to you, the dementor sure looks exactly like an outcast/notorious.. they may not be "knock offs" but their 100% riding on the coat tail that Arrma has built for themselves. Now, if they can handle the torture and abuse people put them threw, like the Arrmas do (not saying their bulletproof but still really stout) then I cant say anything bad about them. Like you said, on the electronics side they nailed it, now if the rest of the car is capable is the question. If they hold up, then maybe I'll have to pick on up because I already upgrade my arrmas to a max8/6, and servos.. Next thing to come to mind is parts availability. That's where arrma made it (once getting onboard with the Horizon team) imo. I'm not about to get another rig that I have to wait days/weeks/even months to get parts for. Did that with my v2 talion and it was more of a headache that it was worth at times. Time will tell but as of now, like I said, I'll stay strong with team arrma.
