Regarding the erratic arc start, as you (and others in the comments) have pointed out, make sure to use at least 1 sec of pre-flow and preferably even a little longer (I tend to run 1.3 sec). Plus, make sure your ground is very good (ground directly to the piece you’re welding or use your heat sink and make sure your piece has very good contact to the heat sink which is flat and has very good contact to the grounded table). And the third thing is this - when using the foot pedal, immediately go to at least 50% pedal before the arc starts so when the arc does start it’s a quick and direct burst of higher amps that tends to snap directly to your target rather than wandering around when you start too low and try to slowly feather the pedal during the arc start.

Woooo! That's a beast. I have a brand new PrimeWeld TIG225X that has embarrassingly been sitting in my garage in the box for a few months. I am so excited to start using it soon! The price and capability of the PrimeWeld machines is just amazing from everything I've seen. I personally would much rather have the knobs than a crazy digital screen where you have to hit 10 buttons any time you want to change a setting. The flame piece was pretty cool. :)

Thats cool! I haven't used a primeweld myself but from everything I have read they are a really great value. Good luck and have fun with it!

That's exciting! People sleep on primeweld. I was hyped when I saw your Steve Morris hoodie

That will be my next machine for sure. I just bought the PW 225X about 4 months ago and love it.

I have been welding for 17 years. A heat sick is normally copper or brass. When you are welding you use that and it will pull the heat out of it. And it's good to weld your filler rods stubs together. So you can use up all the rod.

EJ it looks like Faraday's cage by adding a little more preflow will give you more grounding so it most likely will stop the Faraday cage from happening... but that's just my opinion 🤙🏻

Great vid, I'll have to check it out that's great looking machine💪🏼

mine dose the same thing that is the only complaint i have with this machine. i have found the best wat to minimize it is the pre flow like you said and turn the start current/amps to 15 amps doesn't eliminate it but seemed to help

I've been looking for a new TIG welder for aluminum intercooler tubing and 304 stainless exhaust tubing. I might try this brand.

They seem to be reliable and do a good job and affordable .watch your post flow and make sure your line is tight on the regulator either one of those will eat your gas up fast . 😎. I have a Miller Dynasty® 800 208-600 V because I often weld up to 1 inch aluminum plate . Pulse welding comes in very handy sometimes on projects. You are a character young lady and I love the passion and enthusiasm you radiate you will be a master in no time a lot faster than most. 🤙🏻

It'd be cool to see you modify the welding cart to fit the welder better!

Never even tried Tig welding, so it looks more tham amazing to me 🙂 One thing that worries me is producing any type of spark in a garage like that, so maybe ask the lsndlord about drywalling the place? And make sure your insurance for your new home includes the garage and whats in it. Yeah, I am boring at partys 😊

No fancy screens or intergraded water coolers but Primeweld is an awesome company. There products are the cheapest you want to spend when getting into a machine and expecting quality. They could easily raise their prices but choose not. N.J. Based so east coast shipping is really quick. Easier to use with better results than every old syncrowave square wave I’ve used and those are still being sold for 2x-3x the price of the new prime weld 325. 225 will cover most anything but if you thick you’ll be playing with thicker alum I’d go for the 325.

LOL...at around the 13:15 mark you didn't want to take your gloves off to handle the metal as it might have been too hot but then you touched it to your face to confirm.

I'm surprised they haven't banned welders in california yet, too many fumes for the environment... smh cali sucks, I don't see why anyone would want to move there.
@KZ-yy9pm4 ай бұрын
There’s obviously heavy pockets of auto related fab shops in many areas of cali. Some very well known people out there which a lot could be learned from. I assume this, but I’d never move anywhere in that state for any reason.
