Unboxing the new invite-only JP Morgan Reserve Credit Card Card, formerly known as the JP Morgan Palladium Card - enjoy! Add me on Snapchat/Instagram: GPStephan

Get $50 off for a LIMITED TIME with code ThankYou50 - The Real Estate Agent Academy: Learn how to start and grow your career as a Real Estate Agent to a Six-Figure Income, how to best build your network of clients, expand into luxury markets, and the exact steps I’ve used to grow my business from $0 to over $125 million in sales: goo.gl/UFpi4c
Some background on the card: Typically, in order for people to be eligible to receive one of these, you need to be a JP Morgan Private Bank Customer with more than $10,000,000 in investable assets. This places it as one of the most exclusive credit cards available.
Originally this card was branded as the JP Morgan Palladium Card, and..if you couldn’t guess…it was made out of Palladium. At current value, just the precious metal value of the card ALONE was worth $1000. However, when Chase launched the Chase Sapphire Reserve in 2016, JP Morgan Palladium Card Holders were a little upset…the Chase Sapphire Reserve held ALL the benefits of the JP Morgan Palladium Card, for a fee of only $450…and the Palladium Card’s fee was $595.
So in 2017, JP Morgan discounted the Palladium Card, and simply rebranded it as the JP Morgan Reserve Card. Same thing, different name, and they lowered the annual fee to $450 to match the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
On the surface, the benefits of this card are nearly IDENTICAL to the Chase Sapphire Reserve. They’re both a $450 annual fee, they both give you a $300 annual travel credit, they both get 3x points on travel and dining, they both give you complimentary lounge access…I’d say overall, these are the same cards. Except, I got this card for a few reasons:
1. I had the opportunity to get it, so now I get bragging rights ;)
2. I also get 60,000 points by signing up and spending $4000 in the first 3 months, which I was going to spend anyway, so I value that at approximately $1100 in free travel.
3. I also can get the $300 travel credit in 2018, and then again beginning in 2019…so that’s another $600 in value
Hope you enjoy the unboxing!

My aunt won the lottery back in 2015 and she had a centurion card 2 years later. One time she came to visit on the holidays and we wanted to take her to a nice restaurant but when we got there it was all booked because it was the holidays. Then she whipped out her black card and call the service number and the man on the line called the restaurant. Like 6 minutes later the staff told us to come down over to a table for us. We were were like wow and my parents just kept talking about it during the whole time while looking at the menu. It was kinda dissapointing too because that was all they talk about through half the dinner while I sat there eating and just listening lol ...

Wow, is there any idea on what exactly service she used? Like, was it the banks concierge and they just said “our client is a black card member, sir her” I’m really interested in this benefit if you could shed some light.

Amex platinum and centurion cards have access to the centurion concierge, very polite agents that are ‘do-anything agents’. Very nice and polite people. Oftentimes at certain restaurants, they have connections to managers and those who seat people and can pull strings like this.

Worked at a fast food chain that had a cult following. One time someone came 30 minutes after we closed and we told them we were closed. 20 minutes later I get a call from our regional to stay with an employee and serve this individual and Over time (which is a Nono normally) was fine. So why jump trough all the hoops? This guy had some sort of high end visa and basically called his lounge, which called my employer and told them A. It’s the fine print of their agreement with us in order for us to take visa and B. If we wanted to keep taking visa that it would be in our best interest to do this.

Year-over-year inflation stood at 6.5% in December 2022-the lowest that figure has been in more than a year. Inflation was in line with what economists expected and gave many of them a reason to believe that the peak of inflation may be behind us. I have approximately $150k stagnant in my port_folio that needs growth. What is the best way to take advantage of this downturn?

For some time, then you should down grade it to reduce the yearly amount you pay to keep the card. If the benefits balance the amount of money you pay for the card annually, no need to down-grade but that doesn't usually happen.

I'm so glad I didn't listen to people saying "debt cards are bad" I figured out for myself just how OP credit cards are when used responsibly, also considering my credit history being just 3 months old my credit score is bloody good so far I'm definitely doing everything right. Ha! I make those J.P. Morgan Reserve cards, as well as the Amex Centurion and the business platinum. Well, actually, I should say made. A few weeks ago I quit to take up real estate investing with my father in law! That’s what got me to your channel! It’s a really neat find to have you holding something that I made in your hand. It feels like a sign to me. Do you ever experience cool coincidences in life like this? To me they sometimes make it seem like I’m on the right path. Do you ever experience this or are you way too practical and pragmatic to be amazed by what may merely be random chance? Just so you know... the card is made from brass sheet metal with a palladium PVD coating. Should I say how much it costs to produce? The back is chemically etched and the front is mechanically engraved and laser etched, then it’s coated. Congrats on your brilliant success Graham. Enjoy the flex. You’re totally not a douche about it.

Kids I worked in banking for a decade at 3 diff institutions and they were all the same. Anything that the bank offers you for “free” is not free. The banks benefit $$ more from you and you blindly think your the one benefiting. First it’s not a $10mil, credit line. You need to have $10mil in assets being managed by the bank. That means that the banks are already pocketing money from in management fees. Whether we are in a bull or bear market (you losing money) the banks are still making money from management fee. Additionally, by all means your approved credit line can be anything the banks want to give you (all based on credit approval). Secondly, they claim you get “$300 annual credit automatically”. Eh wrong. You have to spend $1000 on air fair to get the $300. So your still spending $700. And if you don’t use the card you still have to pay the $595 annual fee, like it or not. And lastly, the exciting 3 point for every purchase on travel and restaurants only. Everything else is one point only. Each point is worth only $0.015. Do the math. At the end of the day banks deceived the gullible into thinking their benefiting when in reality is all easy money in the pockets of financial institutions. Read your facts kids: www.valuepenguin.com/jp-morgan-reserve-card-chase-palladium

Flores Industries Transportation Most of what you said is either misleading or just plain wrong. The rebranded J.P. Morgan Reserve card is $450 a year. The site you referenced is an update of an article about the original Palladium Card, clearly they forgot to update the annual fee when it was rebranded. If you would have checked out any other source including the guy in the video who OWNS the card you would know it’s now $450/year. Next the travel credit for the JP Reserve is EXACTLY the same as the Chase Sapphire Reserve. Being an owner of the CSR I can confidently say what you said is completely false. The $300 credit after spending $1000 in airfare was used ONLY as a real life example in the article. They weren’t trying to say it was the rule. The real way the $300 credit works is when something is charged as travel you automatically get credit back to your card. The card will keep doing this until you reach $300 in spend. This is an amazing credit that is naturally and easily used by almost everyone. Lastly you talk as if 1.5 cent per point is bad. Anyone who has touched a credit card knows that your return is only going to be a few percent. But even so you’re also not factoring in the transfer partners available to owners of premium chase cards. If you fully utilize the transfer partners you can get 2-6 cents per point if not more. Add in some additional chase point earning cards and you can get amazing return on a wide variety of categories. End of the day YES banks are trying to make money but they aren’t making money off of responsible owners who pay off their debt on the CSR (and by extension JP Reserve). There are plenty of articles out there where Chase has stated they are losing money on this card. Bottom line pay off your debt each month and you will come out ahead.
@drewnyc5816
@drewnyc5816 6 жыл бұрын
Flores, don't get a credit card. Because you're clueless about them and how they work. He doesn't have the old palladium card pay attention. Yes, the credit is automatic you don't have to spend 1000 on airfare. Any travel purchase, Any is credited back to you immediately up to 300 dollars. He knows there are 3 points for travel and dining and 1 point for everything else. Watch the video again and pay attention. You will learn something. He never said it had a 10 million dollar credit line. lol. The freebies are for people who know how to play the game, of course, people fail at this game because they are bad with money. But people like me gain. 32 years in the credit card game never paid a penny in interest. I enjoy all the perks, free travel, free rental cars and free hotels for the last decade. 30 plus credit cards with two new ones this week. I love the points, free lounge access, free global entry.

Dave is not a dumb individual, he knows leverage can be used to make money but his show is about getting out of debt and being financially responsible and the best way to do this is with cash. As he says, if numbers were so simple then none of his listeners would be in debt. For most of them, the last thing they will be doing is leveraging debt, his show is not meant for that but obviously a lot of people don’t understand this.

@@kakerake6018 exactly, smart people like their parents value every dime they have because they know how hard it was to get. and it's just that kind of person who will never need pass trough hard times for the simple reason to think about tomorrow. normally people like this dude " they complain about 500" is the same mindset from those who lives paycheck to paycheck, that's not live this is survive... for those people who lives for just for what they want at a moment, witouth make planings they are doomed to failure.

Dave Ramsey is for the weak minded. Everyone who is wealthy knows wealth is built on responsible leverage.

@@antonbriggs5680 Truthfully, Mr Ramsey seems to flex the idea of avoiding debt altogether and credit cards from what I know of him. Probably not a bad idea for a Peter Pan generation of snowflakes. However, if you understand concepts like return on invested capital (%) against cost of capital (%) and leaving a wide margin for error (duration gap and other uncertainties), then scalping bonus offers if you are fully certain of paying off the expense without incurring unnecessary interest expense totally works.

I got over 20 credit cards and always pay on time. I used them for discounts and cashback for most parts. I like spending credit cards on gold jewelry/bars when the gold was at its lower price a few years ago. there were also 0 percent 10-month installment programs if you can't pay the whole debts at the end of the month or after a grace period. you must join the program when you first buy them at partner gold shops. now I got lots of income from selling the gold back to the shop when the gold's at the highest price. if you know how to spend credit cards, they will do you good.

Gotta love it. When you're rich, other rich people just give you their money for being rich and doing business with them yet charge poor people when they accidentally overdraw their account.
