Yes always keep away from that trash. If you have damaged credit just do what you did before and start over. Get a secured card and pay on it. Live inside your means, not borrowing money you don't have cus you know where that gets you. Even poorer! Close those junk cards. Get secured card and live responsibly. In a year or so when your managing money that only you have, then and only then apply for a real CC but this time treat it with great respect and use it the same way as you did with your secured card. If you NEED credit to buy something (with a credit card) your living outside your means. Never do that.

Credit one's not that bad as long as the terms and conditions are good a lot of their cards don't have fees they have horrible cards and they have somewhat decent cards you have to read the fine print on every individual card if you have middle-of-the-road credit or good credit but not that much time on the bureau's there is one or two Credit One credit cards that are not that bad I bet most people don't know this but Capital One owns Credit One it's their subprime division you can have a 750 credit score and still be subprime if you only have a year-and-a-half on the bureau and if you only have a couple credit cards like Capital One and they refuse to increase your credit limit over five hundred bucks then you have to do something in the meantime while you're stuck in the upside down
@manictiger2 жыл бұрын
I always ignore mail offers, because, yeah, my credit is good. So why would I want to ding it with a hard inquiry from a no-name company and unsolicited junk mail? I open credit cards with companies I've established trust with, because I know that if I ask, they might do a soft inquiry or no inquiry at all (depends on a lot of factors, like whether it's just an upgrade, a credit line increase, and internal policies the rep has to abide by).

I had no credit in my late 20's due to avoiding cards in my youth and using cash exclusively. Naturally I had no real debt other than a car payment. Upon looking at purchasing a home I realized avoiding credit was a double edged sword. I began with a Credit One card quite simply because I didn't know any better and it was easy... I qualified. I used the card minimally and paid the balance of in full monthly. After approx 12 months and a few other basic steps I was approved and purchased my home. So as bad as the card is it can be useful if you're responsible. In retrospect had I done a little research I probably wouldn't have applied for that specific card. Nonetheless it helped me.

I accepted that because I was starting my credit rebuilding journey, and what a journey it has been. I would never advise anyone with 700+ credit to go for this card. However, if you were like me and wanted somewhere to start building your credit so that you could move on to better cards down the line, then this was a great option in all honesty. I still have the card today, and am thankful that they took a shot on me. My first card was Credit One. I had no credit and was told lots of credit inquiries would make it worse. I researched and found Credit One approves anyone. It was between this and a secured card. I heard secured cards didn't build much credit, so I settled on Credit One. After making my payments on time for 11 months, I went to my bank to inquire on a CC. I explained my credit situation and they recommended a secured card, because my chance of approval for their basic real cc was low, but I pushed for the real CC. I was approved to both our surprise, $2000 limit with 12.5%apr. I then closed my credit one account before the next anual fee, and have been building credit with my bank cc. Credit One is expensive, but its fast no risk credit. I would do it again.

We accidentally got one of these because we mistook it for a Cap 1. Grrr! One bright side, we got a huge limit. One thing to keep in mind, they start charging interest on purchases from the day you use it. It’s really annoying.

So I’m late to this video so I don’t even know if you will see this. Literally the 1st card you mentioned was in my wallet, credit one card, I had no clue because before I found your channel all I did was sign up for whatever. I canceled my card mid video, recorded the conversation, screen shot the time frame so u don’t get screwed. Thanks bro.

These are cards you get when you’re in rough shape. Keep them for a year and close them. The idea is these cards are to be replaced.

Except closing cards hurts credit score
@john_thorpe5 жыл бұрын
@@freerunnersunion_________90 It only hurts you if the age of the account is years old (i.e. more than a year to a year and a half old) and your credit to debt ratio. But if it was me that had one (not that I would in the first place), and can get an unsecured no annual fee card with a good credit limit within say the first year, I'd close the account to get rid of the fee's even if it meant taking a couple point hit on my score. But I'd open the new account first. I would not pay $99 a year just to hold onto the card.

Yes! I am just rebuilding. I watch my account like a hawk for unnecessary little charges, $1.09 for what? I paid the annual fee immediately and made only 2 charges, paid immediately. It stays at a 0 balance and ignore the offers.
@jdmcarboy645 жыл бұрын
Got the first premier platinum and I’ve come to realize they set the bar high on fees to teach responsibility for those trying to fix their credit and not ball out with it. Most people don’t realize that you should keep a $0 balance every month and spend 30% and under. But that’s my point of view. The 36% interest doesn’t scare me because I don’t flex with my cards and keep my balance under $100 therefore they’re easy to pay off

You're giving them too much credit. They're simply a predatory sub prime issuer. They know most people are gonna be irresponsible with their cards.

Some of these cards are usefull to build a credit history if you move into the credit score system. You can't just apply for any card. You may be better of if you go to your old bank (which have offices in the US) and apply for their card, but it takes time as they need to manually convert your old credit score to your new credit score.

Why don't you pay everything with your credit card and just pay it off right away so you get the benefits while building credit? Even if I you don't care about building credit (I guess you plan on buying your home in cash or renting your whol life) You should still buy with your credit card assuming there are no fees And you pay on time otherwise you are literally and I do mean LITERALLY lol giving money away ...why? I recently closed the account of credit one bank and they desperately tried to keep me, now one thing Gram did not mention is that they charge for a credit card protection fee and you have to pay interest while us about $8.00 a month, if you rarely use the card you're basically giving away your money 💰. Wait I asked them to stop the credit card protection fee They said they cannot do that it was only after I threatened to close the account did they remove it but I close the account anyways and I have no interest in going back to them

It's amazing the things you can get away with if you simply get someone to sign a contract. There is the assumption that you can't be taken advantage of if you agreed to it. That's simply not true. No one in their right mind would get the first 4 cards (the last one someone might get just because it's shiny). The only way they get someone to sign an objectively bad contract is through manipulation, which I would consider against the notion of a person's freedom to contract. A false 'you' is signing the contract - the 'you' that has been deceived or manipulated into a false state of mind about reality. This is no different from a person with schizophrenia signing a contract ethically speaking.
