Unboxing the Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED

This video covers my unboxing and setup of the Limited Edition Steam Deck OLED from Valve! I was able to snag one of these on launch day after attempting to check out on Steam for almost a hour. I also decided to purchase the optional Steam Deck Dock which allows for video output, ethernet and USB accessories to be connected. I hope you enjoy the content!

That 'lack' of a back light though!😆 Unless you're referring to the obnoxious red hue in the 'unboxing' portion of the video? I need to do something about that next time...

Cameron, do you show up to parties fashionably late? This is basically the tech version of that.😉 My OG Steam Deck works great as my retro machine. Anything 10 yrs or older is superb on it. Haven't felt like I needed to upgrade, was probably one of the few who kept my expectations for the device in check, it was always going to be my retro machine. My PC for anything 5-10 yrs old. I haven't played any of the recent PC games, they just haven't interest me. Kind of feel the golden age of gaming has pass. We're just rehashing the same stuff and ideas into a new form that either hit or miss, more misses IMO.

Well it's either this or no content, so I must make do with what I have. That OG Steam Deck at its current price cut is a very good offer indeed. I must agree as well, the golden age of gaming has definitely passed as it seems we're in this limbo phase. Some upcoming stuff looks cool, but I still find myself more excited for remakes these days.

There are so many unique games releasing - don't get distracted by the big AAA releases. I'm playing new games on Steam Deck with like 10+ hours battery life at 60fps! Gaming has never been better if you ask me. Having said that, do not underestimate it. I recently purchased Lies of P and that runs at 60/looks fantastic.

@@nostalgiaholic4874 @ingueferroque I prefer not to be overtly negative and always try to be optimistic about the future. That being said, I do think objectively the first half of this generation pales in comparison to what we got with the previous gens. There's a clear lack of an identity to associate with these consoles, as it feels they're still just getting started and online I see many are still playing cross-gen or older games in the interim. However, there are some genuine new things I am excited for and many games on my backlog I need to play. I do need to pay attention to more indies and I also think that more studios should take a more of a responsibility between when they announce these games and when they actually release. Projects like Little Devil Inside, Routine and Pragmata come to mind. Creatively interesting games that we've known about for years, and still don't know when to expect.
