Still rocking my gen 1 Elite for about 5 years now and it still work perfectly fine. I find it hard to play on a regular controller now. Now that I was able to find a series x @ target I think it’s time to upgrade to the Elite 2

I loved the way this controller felt in-hand, premium and good quality; The trigger settings were great, the paddles were interchangeable (short/long) and felt great, but I just could not get used to the offset Joysticks. The ABXY buttons needed to be a bit more shallow, when I pressed them sometimes it would not engage unless I made sure to push it instead of tapping them, so I ended up returning it.

Im new to Xbox and I agree. I have to deliberately press down on the buttons a little harder as opposed to my ps5 controller. The ps5 requires no effort and I never miss any buttons but occasionally I do with the series x controller.

Well, I am not strictly speaking a Playstation-Player. I am mainly playing on PC, but my family has had a PS4 since almost the entire lifetime and I did obviously play a bit on it. I however played even more with the DualShock 4 simply on the PC (with a USB-Cable and help of Steams Controller-Support), especially RocketLeague or Jedi Fallen Order which I think are just better with a controller. However I always hated that I had this cable and (from almost everybody who was Multiplatform) have also heard that the Xbox Controller is just better so I bought one at the beginning of the year and I got used to it in about 1h. Now I find the DualShock 4 not that good anymore and would never use it over my Xbox Controller (which is the Series S Version by the way). I do however also think, that the PS5 Dual Sense seems way improved (if we just think about ergonomics) and would probably also be much better than the Dual Shock but I also think that this style of offset controls actually makes a lot of sense. I do however also understand that many people have a lot more mussle-memory than me with the Playstation-Design and so the switch could be a lot harder.

I actually love this controller. It feels premium as well. Has a one year no questions asked, for the most part, replacement waraunty as well. I have 2 of these and my gf also has one. Got it in a bundle for the Series X and assumed I’d never use it, but ended up loving it.

Not always true man. I’ve had mine since release and it’s horrible now. Drifts more than Vaughn Gitten Jr. left stuck doesn’t click anymore. Lb works when it wants to. Didn’t have these issues on the gen one elite either.

I have one of these they are great but I will tell you they start to wear down on you after a year or so but overall I would recommend this controller. The battery inside of the controller lasts 40 hours fully charged which is outstanding.

I have the elite series 2 and love it tbh. I find my self using the shortest trigger stop option a lot for halo infinite and swapping my d-pads out for killer instinct. Two things I hate honestly though… it has no share button which I use way more than I thought I would and I wish more colors were available for this controller. I also had heard there were durability issues which I haven’t gone through at all and hopefully it stays that way.

Ive had mine for about 4 months it came with stick drift which sucked ass, but once ive raised deadzone settings in game and abjusted senstivity based off of my deadzone its been fine. The paddles literally save lives lol i hate not having paddles . I have a warrenty so eventully i will take it back and get it replaced for a brand new one.

@@jdxcoffee The paddles might be the only thing that looks interesting. I am a lifelong keyboard and mouse player...been on it for at least 20 years. The last time I touched a controller was back when the Gamecube was out in 04. I was looking to get a good controller to play casually on shooter games and such. I know it has tension adjustment and the longer sticks and all that and I could like it but I dont know because I am not well versed in controllers....so really unsure as to what I would like for certain other than more buttons because I am use to having more than enough buttons lol. What do you think? Would you pick the Series X regular controller or the Elite 2? I heard the Elite 3 prob wont come out till 2023 so I dont want to wait that long either lol.

Honestly. This thing is super cool but not worth it. It feels good and looks great. There are so many things you can do with it. It’s unreal but if you are a casual player and not competitive, just get a regular one or better yet. Design your own

@@jdxcoffee Hmm. Well Ill say this. I had the PS5 controller and I wasnt impressed with it. I am sure on a PS5 it is amazing because all the features work. But for PC it was very hard to get it to 'work'. I couldnt just plug and play. I had to download DS4Windows just to get it to work and to display the correct button prompts. After all that it would constantly disconnect and have latency issues over bluetooth. The aim assist wouldnt work for some reason. It must not be detecting it as an actual controller IDK. But even when wired it was a huge headache. Now visually though...its incredible looking. I got the new black DS5 controller and it was slick. But its too much trouble to get it to work proper. And I really got it because I play emulators and thought I needed a gyro...and after using the gyro I honestly felt like I did better without it. Its a nice feature but I can see why Xbox never added it. The touchpad I also dont see a need for. And after playing I also realized the thumsticks being symmetrical wasnt very comfortable IMO. SO, back in 2018 I borrowed a friends Xbox 1 controller to play For Honor with and everything was plug and play then and every aspect 'just worked'. But I always felt it lacked buttons until I heard about the third party ones you can add, or scuff controllers, or even the Elite 1 controller at the time. I figured I paid $208 for my mouse and keyboard (G Pro Wireless)...paying $180 for a top of the line controller isnt 'that bad'. And then to top it off it has the extra buttons, customizable thumbsticks, and looks premium and slick. For an Xbox Series X controller with wireless adapter is $80 so it cost $100 more to get the paddles, and extra features. Not to shabby. I think Ill just get the Elite even if I dont end up using it much it will still be a better experience when I do. Thanks for the help!

X Y A B need to be adjusted to be more sensitive - i don't have time to double click every button when I'm seconds from getting my ass handed to me the LB and RB sensitivity need to be decreased, i click it once but it registers as a double click - i try to swap to my shotgun and instead i get meds which is basically a death sentence while in combat

The A button seems like a hit or miss sometimes, ( have to press harder because it don’t register soft presses all the time) but it seems like almost all of them have issues with that specific button. Also, it picks up fingerprints like crazy. I guess I’ll see how it goes 😅

I have an elite v 1.0 . The internal battery is a real big minus for me. I use only rechargeable batteries with my controller. Sadly... you can't play anymore with "normal" controller if you like this controller. Too bad we can't have back pads, right out from the box, for the "normal " controller !!

I have the first gen elite controller. I had to replace the bumpers (original broke) and the rubber padding came off on one of the sides. I'll get some replacement parts to clean it up. Be careful with the paddles. I use two profiles on my controller so that when I am putting it down I switch to the profile that disables the paddles.

The paddles are pretty easy to master but I only use one on either side and swapped the thumb press to them because I have problems with my left thumb. As I also only have small hands I doubt that I could manage two but luckily have no need as yet in any games I play.

It comes down to functionality. This is first party and has a lot of support in the accessories app. The scuff has a lot of color customizations and I would imagine pc support ( I have never used one. The c40tr I am unfamiliar with. No matter what they all are sensitive controllers that may develop some sort of input error if not taken care of properly. Hope this helps

All in was still less than the other two options and first party. Made no sense to me to go elsewhere. The others only have 6 months warranty then I’d have a 200 pound controller to throw in the trash.

You have to go into the mapping settings and change it to open the Xbox Menu when you press the power button.

It is well known that almost every series 2 controller will break very soon. Its a design issue. I'mon my sixth controller. Microsoft needs to be sued for that. It would be the best controller but they messed it up.
