🇦🇺😎👍Interesting. In Australia the only gun stuff allowed in the mail is slings , empty cases or projectiles. etc…Everything has to be picked up at a shop in person by a licenced firearms holder . Any firearms purchased must be accompanied with a police permit to own the firearm. They like to limit the amount of stuff we own…great video🏁

Thanks! To be clear, a firearm has to be shipped to a licensed dealer here as well. I have a Curio & Relics FFL that allows me to receive rifles that are 50+ years or older directly to my door.

I can't stop hearing the "Bella Ciao" song everytime I see a video about a Carcano.
@GarandGuy25533 ай бұрын
Haha it’s a great song for sure!

I found one in Cabelas two years ago for 156. Pure luck. my first Carcano. A Gardone Val Trompia from 1940. Nice shape. I live in Phoenix and so I took a drive up the hill last weekend to pick up another from J&G directly. Got an even nicer example by FNA Brescia with a 1940 date. Both bores were pretty good. I need to get out to the range some time and try them out. Might have to make another trip while they still have them at this price.

Oh they let you pick them out if you drive up there? If I wasn’t on the other side of the country, I’d do that too!

@@GarandGuy2553 Up to a point. The guy brought three out for me and I picked the one I took the most fancy to. I doubt they'd be very happy if you wanted to look thru a selection of 20 or so. What he said was that they are all more or less in the same sort of condition so there wasn't much to be gained from sorting thru large numbers of them.

Waiting on mine to come from JG. Super excited! Thanks for the video!

These are in solid condition. Hopefully you get a good manufacturer!

I've always had good luck with J&G. Nice to keep picking up more of these while we can.

Oh definitely!

Certainly nicer than the Carcanos I've been seeing for sale up here in Soviet Canuckistan.
@GarandGuy25539 ай бұрын
All the ones coming into the US right now are straight from Italy and in really great condition. The Ethiopian ones that were coming in for awhile were trash but the recent imports have been excellent from what I’ve seen.

I like the Carcano carbines, I have several but the problem is trying to get any better than about a pie plate sized group at 50 yards. I've tried a bunch of different bullets and they just don't like any I've tried. Even .268 jacketed and up to .270 cast. Still cool for the history and still fun to shoot as long as you're not trying to get real nice groups (or maybe mine are just not good shooters, the bores are good though) Do you know how the button on the rear sight is held on? Mine from Royal Tiger was missing, it just has the stem it goes on. They sent me a spare button but there's no way I can see to attach it. Im thinking they were pressed or peened in place. I may have to epoxy mine because there's no way I can think of to peen it and it slides right on and off so not tight enough to press and hold.
@williamganley47399 ай бұрын
I have two Carcanos the one made in 1936 looks to be pressed in firmly and the 1894 seems to be peened over with four different dimples on the stem and the button spins freely.
@Toolness19 ай бұрын
@@williamganley4739Awesome thanks for letting me know! I think Ill just have to peen it slightly so it's tight, then press it on with some epoxy
@GarandGuy25539 ай бұрын
Damn, RTI didn’t even send you a new gun?
@Toolness19 ай бұрын
@GarandGuy2553 I didn't ask for one, I figured I would just use it to practice some work on and fix it up best I could. It actually looks petty decent now. I boiled and carded the rust and stripped the gloopy shellac that was sprayed on the stock. They sent the missing parts real quick so at least they were helpful with that

Have you bought one of the button release versions from them? I am curious about how their button ones are as well.
@GarandGuy2553Ай бұрын
Not from them specifically but I have 4-5 button release Moschettos. They’re probably the most common type of release because many of the latch and slide release ones were rearsenaled.

I have decided to order one of these rifles, but i dont know if i should order from j&g sales or rti?
@GarandGuy25535 ай бұрын
Both J&G and RTI sourced their Moschetto’s from the same Italian carabinieri storage auctions. Go with whichever is cheapest. J&G has better customer service and ships much faster (several days versus 3-4 weeks).
@darthbiden86755 ай бұрын
@@GarandGuy2553 in that case I will be ordering from j&g, thank you for the quick and informative reply, you sir have earned a new subscriber.
@GarandGuy25535 ай бұрын
@@darthbiden8675 thanks man! I’m ordered from both but J&G seems more “reachable” if that makes sense.
