Nice rifle. I have 2 Cavalry Carbines, a 1917 and a '41. Your collection is great.

Looks to be a good score from RTI to fill that hole in your Carcano collection.👍

Definitely!

I only have 1 Cavalry carbine and it is an 1899 Brescia.

That’s really cool! I love the older Carcanos for sure. I’d like an antique one at some point.

Question, does the "early" version have a longer stock than the later version? I bought one from RTI that was missing the handguard so I bought a handguard and it is too small. Just wondering if the stock was from a different carbine.

Just to clarify, you bought a second variant carbine from RTI and it was just missing an upper handguard? The stock lengths appear to be the same between the two.

I’m curious, by how much is it too small? Close enough to be a tolerance thing? Or not even close? Are the stock, rifle, and handguard all the same exact model (something isn’t from a 91/38 cavalry carbine with fixed rear sight, for example)? Is the handguard new production and maybe made wrong?
@philmerrow1743 ай бұрын
@GarandGuy2553 yes, that's right.

@hobofactory it is about 3/8" short. It is not a handguard for a fixed rear sight. Can't really read the numbers on the stock, it it does say S.S. above the stock number. I am sure the stock is wrong and probably from a later rifle.

With that Carcano collection you could do any attempt by C&Rsenal to do a series of videos on the history and evolution of the family :-)
@GarandGuy25533 ай бұрын
That’s the plan! Or atleast an evolution of the carbines.
