Hearing about the update feature makes me wonder. I had the thought that it would be pretty cool to put pip boy holotape games on it, like the one Lucy is seen playing in the first episode. You could very easily add some sort of arkanoid clone with the controls available. Perhaps ZETA INVADERS, Atomic Command, RED MENACE and so on could get simple recreations on it.

The USB-C actually being used for data and interfacing is huge. I can not wait to see where this thing is in a few years with mods and custom firmware. I hope they gave us plenty of storage for custom playlists to make more radio stations with.

I'm so glad this includes a nice long USB-C cable. Too many high end products these days either don't bother including one or come with a useless tiny one. I'm also so happy to hear about the updates since I was actually just wondering about what the strategy for handling season two stuff would be. I really hope a more in depth map system (like one that allows you to freely scroll and scale the map) comes in a future update. The PC integration is also such a cool feature and one I would've never guessed in a million years. My only real critique is that I wish the Geiger counter were synced to the digital one, but that's such a small and minor thing. I'm also excited by how hackable this thing seems, since I'm sure someone will inevitably get Doom running on it lmao (speaking of which, is the lack of any Atomic Command animations perhaps hinting at something playable coming in a future update? Iirc all the Pip-Boy games were Flash games) Anyway, this is the most excited I've ever been for something to come in the mail lmao

Been waiting for these to ship out! I’m so freaking hyped, I never managed to get previous pip boys because I wasn’t in a good place financially so I’m excited to finally get this one. Been a fan since I was like 12, my first fallout was 3. Mine should be shipping in January but these kinds of videos hype me up. These are so cool!

i pre ordered it, and yeesh, i hope the weathering on mine doesn't look like this... looks like a cheap spirit Halloween prop paintjob. if it does, I'm going to strip the paint off and do it myself, disappointing for something so expensive

I had to order a second one for my 76 year old, stoner, disabled, retired Vietnam Veteran father...who has played all the Elder Scrolls and Fallout since 3 on his xbox and has THOUSANDS of hour in Fallout76 which he plays every day. We lived in Las Vegas for awhile and we were there when Fallout Vegas came out and used to go to the Pioneer Saloon monthly to go eat. Way before they started the event there! We will have to take him to the event next year...

I'm part of the batch expecting in February. Thank you for sharing your Pip-Boy with such detail! I missed out on the others, but it seems that I bought into the best experience to date - a dimensionally accurate prop with future functionality updates expected (that part was news to me!) I was also pleased to see that the flashlight behaves as it does in FO3 and up, rather than the understandable departure that the show took. I'm looking forward to using the adapter plug in a manner similar to its original intention, by connecting to a "terminal" for updates! I wonder if the external terminal function would work for navigating a smart TV, like a universal remote.

Can you imagine your full time job being just designing boxes? Package design? Product engineer? Do you need an engineering background for that? Some degree involving design and geometry, it sound kind of exciting now that I think about it.

$199.00 USD not to bad, the tech behind, heart rate/ blood pressure is pretty cheap and compact, would have been nice to have something like that preinstalled. does it have a mic? would be nice to track sleeping habits. all that stuff are in smart watches already. I guess the power cord was supposed to zip out, but its better this way, cables can go bad super fast. I got my hopes up I wanna hear about real upgrades and not just new sound efx. really cool that it is actual metal, but the weathering looks a bit ... hastedly done. Contrast between the weathered parts and the non weathered ones is pretty black and white. The one on Bethesda' store looks so much better that I'd almost call it false advertising. Pretty absurd for 235 euro but oh well, i've got better things to spend my money on eitherway.
