INSTALLING FLOATING HUB CAPS ON MY F56 COOPER S

Hey all! Today I’ll be showing you all how to install the floating hub caps for the F56!
I can’t provide a direct link but these can easily be found on eBay at various prices.

You're so lucky, I got JCW ones and they foul on a clip once installed but spin freely off the wheel. I need to take off the three of the four wheels that get stuck to see if some gentle persuasion is required. They're the right size because one works perfectly.

Nice finishing touch 👍 Just bear in mind any oil or grease can affect plastics and would trap dirt and brake dust. You'd be better with a silicon spray if needed.

Hey! They’re just covers that go over the bolts. I got them from eBay.

@@BenRolfe tnx! Did you recolored them to a Jet Black mini rims color? They look exactly the same color! I have silver mini cosmos spoke rims and want to refurbish them to a original Jet Black color. Do you maybe know the code of the color of the rims you have so I can tell my mechanic to recolor them?

As a heads up, another way of taking the caps off is to stick duct tape over the cap and slow pull them out, saves you chipping the old caps! (just gotta make sure the wheel is clean and dry first)

Just an orange plastic thing for removing dashboard panels would work to remove the old ones.

Use strong tape. Cover the old ones. Pull quick and hard and old comes pop,out

Still like new! They were a bit stiff to begin with but soon spun more freely over time.

I have them on my JCW only the logo says John Cooper Works rather than MINI, cool.

Ben ...... you missed the best part about these caps ....... get the pressure washer on them and see how fast you can get them to spin : I reckon I got mine upto about 50,000 RPM !!!

If only my stock F56 wheels would allow for these. I don’t think my 18” cone spoke have a removable center cap. 😑

These are great but £77 is extortionate. One MINI dealer on eBay has them at £56 but that's still too much
