Also from the "Miscellaneous" file and by fan request, here are the UNC Clef Hangers performing traditional UNC songs - Aye Zigga Zoomba, Carolina Victory, and Hark The Sound - at their 30th Anniversary Spring Concert in Chapel Hill in April 2008. They are joined on stage by dozens of Clef alumni from all across the 30 years they have existed.

Many of these songs are common asmidst multiple institutions. But being UNC is the nation’s oldest public institution, they can sort of lay claim to any they have used for literally centuries. Especially Hark the Sound. #gdtbath Go Heels! 🩵🤍

I would love for you to remember that UNC is the oldest public university in the nation, founded in 1789. I highly doubt that they are "bastardizing" something they had before anyone else. Besides, the tunes used for schools are fairly common

The oldest public university in the US is William & Mary in Virginia, founded in 1693. This is not posted as a retort, because it is irrelevant to how much Aye Zigga Zoomba ROCKS!

@@leachja2001 UNC is, in fact, the nations oldest public university. William and Mary was founded as a private college, after Harvard, making it the 2nd oldest institution, but not public. Though I don’t necessarily agree with the person’s entire comment and am not sure how a male acapella group triggered that much insolence (perhaps it was in response to a deleted comment I missed?), they OP is correct in their statement about the institution.
