Most foods shown on tv and other mediums are mostly from the lowlands of luzon. Visayas and mindanao (especially those from the mountains) have different style. Lowlands cuisined are mostly meat centric while those living in the mountains are usually vegetable centric.
@MrWarbeast5 жыл бұрын
Lantuak , mountain people are more into meat ( chicken the most ), dried or preserved meat, dried fish, kinds of ground crops and veges. While people near the coast are more into fish, inner city are meat lovers.
@Lantuak5 жыл бұрын
@@MrWarbeast I grew up in Cebu. My grandparents were farmers up in the mountains of Naga and I used to live with them during end of school vacations. Yes they love fish, but certainly only do chicken and pork during occasions, e.g., fiestas, weddings. The bulk of their diet is "utan bisaya" with "tinapanan,or tinapa" and milled corn. White rice is only consumed during important occasions.
@MrWarbeast5 жыл бұрын
Lantuak not anymore. The availability of food derives from where you at and what you can harvest or get. Long time ago in the mountains they can only have veggies and occasionally meat from there own backyard. Now, there’s a lot of people riding motor bike with side car selling fish or anything they can haul for mountain folks. I said, that mostly the mountain folks also get meat because its always available from there own pasture and backyard piggery or chicken coop. They have meat specially when there’s typhoon, when harvesting veggies crops are not good, so they go for backyard chicken, or some neighbors, slaughtering pigs and sell per kilo to the neighbors. I too, lives in Jones Ave. and my wife from a mountain of Bohol, and I grow up in a fishing community. Mostly what filipino eat is what the environment can offer for them, but mostly in the City part, it is what kind of life style they have. But anywhere you go in Philippines, there’s always pork.
