My mom has had vertigo for pretty much her whole adult life and it can be horrible! Before she knew what it was, she went to the ER one time for it and was crying saying “I’m dying!” Over and over. The doctors and nurses were really horrible to her until her blood work came back clean- they thought she was on drugs😢 her issue is with the “crystals” in her inner ear. It’s often triggered by high sodium or MSG intake and she takes meclizine when she feels it coming on. It’s effective but knocks her out for several hours.

@3puppitos6 ай бұрын
Yeah the not trying hard enough for latching.. I just can't with Matt. That's not how it works. I get they are being candid with one another for this podcast but his constant gaslighting and invalidating her feelings is really bothersome. It feels borderline mentally abusive.

Abby was right when she said her baby wasn’t going to latch. It wasn’t like “she wasn’t trying hard enough”, it just was impossible. I feel like they do love themselves but these podcasts are putting their relationship to a test. Matt was driving me crazy!!
@aneydaalejandra40565 ай бұрын
I kind of disagree. There’s so many instances where it takes a lot to get a baby to latch and eventually they do. As a father he is advocating for his baby to get the best nutrition and nourishment he can get. Like who wouldn’t want that. And the podcast wouldn’t be as interesting if he just agreed with every single thing Abby said just to not hurt someone’s feelings. And I also feel like people try to push and normalize formula when it’s sadly just not comparable whatsoever to breast milk. I mean they literally have to put seed oils in it.
@MJGV545 ай бұрын
@@aneydaalejandra4056 it’s ok you disagree, but, just out of curiosity, have you ever nursed a baby and then stopped? Also, have you ever experienced a clogged nipple? If yes, how did you resolved it? Also, do you know about supply and demand issues? If yes, then I think you can talk out of experience. If not, which is how is sounding to me, then I would suggest doing a little research first before commenting that simply Matt is “looking out for his baby” when it sounded like it wasn’t the case at all. They were arguing about Abby’s painful breast and how she could have healed it while being away. In my opinion, he was criticizing Abby for not making the baby squeeze the knot, like she “didn’t try hard enough” because Matt wasn’t willing to help her out. Their baby was in the end safe and sound and Matt had to sucked it up, quite literally lol, and help her. And, if you do a little research or read other comments, in almost all cases, the dads are the only ones that have the most suction to get the duct free. Not the baby. Anyway, it’s Abby’s fight not mine. And if you’re a mom that happened to never experienced this - I love that for you. If you choose to breastfeed or formula feed- I love that for you. I’m glad we all have our choices. Be happy though and don’t judge others. Oh, and if you’re wondering, I am mom who breastfeed 😉.
@aneydaalejandra40565 ай бұрын
@@MJGV54 I did not realize he said it in that context I understand the point you are making. I do have 2 babies 2 under 2 that both breastfeed and I did really struggle to get my first to latch because it was so foreign, my milk hadn’t come in, and to top it all off the nurses and everyone around me was making it seem as if my baby was going to die of starvation if I wasn’t getting her to latch every SINGLE 2 hours for whatever amount of time they had stated. But I truly feel like breast milk is best and not just because I want to bash on moms but because I think formula regulation sucks and I think some people just fall into doing formula because they think it’s easier and just as good. Not to say that’s Abby but I just think that’s become really normal in our society. And like I feel like people get super sensitive about “mom shaming” where as I think it’s necessary to speak your opinions about the well being of children!! Of course don’t take it to the extent of bullying but yeah those are just my thoughts thank you for your time!

I’ve been doing the dizzy thing lately. Turns out it’s because I have low blood pressure. I’m now on a medication to raise my blood pressure. Hope your vertigo gets better. It’s no fun.

Natural ways to help ADHD: -Cut out MSG, added sugar, food dyes -Get outside and exercise -Take Magnesium Especially if you’re worried about your kids. First of all, he’s 2 and a boy so I would hold off from trying to diagnose him with this. My pediatrician recommended these things. Super helpful!! Highly recommend

Abby we are completely different people because happy music irritates me to no end LOL 😂 I need sad girl tunes even when I’m happy in real life- I just like to feel things deeply I guess 😅

Them clogged ducts suck. Glad Matt helped you out. Its totally something most momma's get to experience. Hope the drying out process starts to get better

I hope Abby finds relief from her vertigo. It’s no joke! I had vertigo due to a new protein powder. Additionally, my mom had bad vertigo due to artificial sweeteners. Once I stopped the protein powder and my mom stopped the artificial sweeteners the vertigo was completely gone.
@ellereid67086 ай бұрын
I hope she looks into the artificial sweeteners. I imagine she consumes them pretty regularly maybe not always intentionally.

They have baby seats in bathroom stalls in Japan! I was thinking about how useful that is. They also had disinfectant wipes usually.

In Australia I’m not a parent myself but I’ve seen shopping centres have started to incorporate a restroom that is for parents, I’ve never been inside but I assume it’s where babies can be changed, has kid sized toilets and it must be easier for the parents to go to the bathroom with kids as well

Clogged ducts are truly awful, and nothing to be embarrassed about! I never had to get to the point of my husband helping but I also tried everything else and had my pump and other things available to me. If I was also in the middle of nowhere, I would have immediately asked my husband to step up to the plate. Glad you got it figured out!

Girl idk why they’re doing tests on you for Vertigo and not just doing the Epley Maneuver, classic case of over prescribing. It can be as easy as your crystals in your ear getting discombobulated and boom you get vertigo, please get a second opinion.

Hi! I love listening to you guys and hearing how you are so sacrificially and intentionally raising your children! Just wanted to note that I don’t think Abby’s breastmilk was expired! When there’s an infection going on it can change the taste to be more bitter or different than normal but it isn’t effecting the structure of breastmilk from what I know!

the non alcoholic beer, does have alcohol. Not very much, but just enough that not anyone can have it. My newly married husband and I were on our honeymoon, and I was only 19 at the time (he was 27) and he asked me if I wanted a sip to try it, and I said yes. well the waitress said "DONT YOU DARE DRINK THAT" and come to find out there is enough of alcohol in them, that they could have gotten in trouble if i drank it.

ALSO, being extra tough with things you’re feeling can hurt you in the long run. I too am super tough and push through pain. I don’t take pain meds. If I’m sick, I just push through cause I’m a mom and a wife and a nurse and life goes on….however, being this tough has caused my family to never “tend” to me on any way when I could really use a tiny bit of acknowledgment or a teeny bit of help if I am super sick….so it’s a blessing and a curse 😂😂

Just a tip, Abby, you may want to check your liver enzymes. My mom had really bad headaches after having her 7th baby and found that she had nonalcoholic liver failure. She did a lot of liver detoxing and the headaches we gone in within 2 weeks.

The clogged duct issue has happened to me also. Dont feel bad. I had struggled with it for days, and by the time it was relieved, I filled up a 5 oz bottle. Milk was spraying across the room. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed the bottle. I could feel the milk up under my arm pit, the pressure was so intense. It's comical to look back on now, that was 9 years ago.

Also, good job on not using screens when you travel! I promise it can be done…. Harder in the beginning but worth it when they’re older! We travel internationally, several times a year with 4 kids age 4-12 and they do amazing! You can do it!!

There was a gas station in Colorado where I saw a bathroom stall that had a baby seat and I thought it was the smartest thing ever. More places definitely need that.

@amyhoward98656 ай бұрын
In Japan they actually have built in baby seats in the bathroom stalls, they also have complimentary strollers in all public places, they give you bibs at restaurants. The USA could never keep up with other countries children standards. I’m very disappointed in having to return to USA in a year for this reason.

Our kids didn’t even know what an iPad is before the age of 3. 13 hrs flights were ok without screens, too. I believe that well rested parents are more important than occasional screen exposure, though. We were ok at that time, now they have screens on 5 hrs+ flights, if the flight is shorter they get busy with other things and no time remains for watching anything.

Just moved to Phoenix last August from the Midwest so it was my first “winter” here and yes the 70 degree weather is cold because of the dry air. Our house would be FREEZING in the AM as if we were back in the Wisconsin fall at 40 degree weather. I’m no weenie to cold weather either because I was born and raised there and spent 25 years of my life there.

I wouldn’t wish vertigo on my worst enemy. I used to have it so bad that I’d have to lay in the same spot For 24-48 hours. It felt like the drunk dizziness spins but they wouldn’t go away. When id try to move, id feel this empty pit in my stomach and would stumble. I’d throw up for hours. Too scared to eat or drink anything. I’m still not certain what caused them but maybe from a medication I used to take. I’ve not had one in a couple of years now. I’ve been living & loving life again.

look up the Epley maneuver to help with vertigo!! Doing that & relaxing with your head upright for a few hours is the only thing that could get rid of it for me!

No non alcoholic beer, Abby is completely correct on developing a taste and that “special moment” with dad and it could become an issue. Just wait until 21 dad to share that moment if it is so meaningful to you
