Northern California native here. Each year California experiences wildfires and all I hear is that 90% of the fires are caused by human negligence (arson). Nobody knows how the fire started or how to contain it. Can Governor Newsom give an update on why this happens each year with so much damage yet we cannot find solutions. We also need the FBI investigating since this could be an act of terrorism. I am just saying a small fire gets out of control due to wind and dry conditions. But who started the small fire.

My understanding is that California passed a law that required insurance companies to cover more fire-prone houses. This is why the insurance companies pulled out. An insurance company is a business and needs to stay in business in order to service other customers in other pats of the country.

Yep, it's annoying and probably the wrong way to go but insurance companies aren't "cancelling policies". I've been listening to Western La working incident on the police scanner app on my phone and Cal Fire, LA County Fire and LA SD have almost all their copters working these fires right now. But the problem is this fire got a huge jump on them last night in terms of containment Air Attack cannot fly at night it is way too dangerous to do so. Too many Pilots and flight coordinators have ended up dying over the years when you try to do it in conditions that dangerous. They didn't have a choice they have to wait. I'm an aviation buff as well as a retired security officer and I've been told by many pilots and mechanics when I was working at Hartsfield international back in the nineties as a security and safety officer at a maintenance facility...... thermal updraft you can't see it at night and you can't even try to wear vision goggles when flying at night over a fire because it literally blooms out it washes the image to where it becomes totally useless because of the light intensity. And the wind generated by the Heat makes flying absolutely dangerous at night

I was in wildland fire w/20 person Montana Indian Firefighter crews from 1987 - 2001. We went to several fires in Redding, Big Bear, Orange Co and San Juan Capistrano.
