Uncommon GM electrical issues has me chasing my tail for DAYS!

My dash is staying lit with the key out; the fans turn on at 100 degrees; my wideband refuses to log through the A/C with hptuners, and it’s all for the silliest reasons

You mentioned running a new body to battery ground. If you didn't have this installed previously this would cause a lot of your issues. Look at most vehicles and you will see they have a smaller 8-10 gauge wire shared on the negative side to the body nearby. New vehicles are super sensitive to grounds and can cause a vehicle to not even start if done properly.

Really? I had no idea, I just figured more grounds would be more gooder. I haven’t had any electrical issues since, but I do have a naggy “lost communication with throttle actuator module” code that comes up randomly

My brother has this almost exact same issue with his truck that he never figured out, I wonder if its the wipers causing it....

I think if he unplugs the wiper motor it should stop doing that, easy to test

This is really starting to seem like you’ve got two different things that are either acting or being acted upon in that trucks system, like the possibility of a or a couple minor wiring issues and a programming issue.. what I mean about a program issue is the background systems in the more optioned out systems that have fading lights or delayed circuits in lighting, in the interior area especially. Like I said I’m not necessarily appointing anything to a specific area just saying it’s kinda looking that way!!

Is there something wrong with your tach too? It was showing 2500 rpm before you started the truck and was idling at 4000??? You have waaayyy more patience than me.later it was showing zero rpm in on position.

Yeah man there’s some trouble with most of the gauges. Regular Chevy problems 🤣

I was completely unknown to me lol I built the truck from many donors and apparently they didn’t match up 🤪

@@StationroadRatrods My understanding is that because some of the wiper functions are handled through the BCM the wrong wiper motor or a possible shorted wiper motor can backfeed to the BCM keeping it powered up just enough to show your symptoms.

It’s funny because both were from the same generation of trucks. The one that was in the truck was an 03 regular cab and the one that ended up solving my issue was from an 05 extended cab
