Hey, Mish!! 18:29 No need to prove you didn't rebury that Florin. That was the most authentic excited giggle I've heard in a long time. There was no faking that! I think I've said this before, but your genuine excitement and enthusiasm is a large part of why I keep coming back here. You make even the smallest of coins, broken toy or costume jewelry fun to discover, and when you do find something valuable like gold, silver or a vintage relic, I can't help but get excited with you. With each video I can see it's getting closer and closer to those beach and crashing wave montages that I love so much. Blub, blub, blub...can't hardly wait. One more thing - when your battery died I truly thought you were going to pull out your Bluetti solar panel and get a quick field charge underway. But no, you just pulled out another battery. Goodmorning Mish! its odd how all those coins were concentrated in that one spot, and its not like it was a coin spill, with the mixture of finds coming out, decimals and pre decimals, and only 2c pieces, not a spendable there, it looks like you didnt have to wander all over the place to have a good hunt, with all the 46 florins that we all find, its a wonder theres any left to be found. Wouldn't it be great to be able to return that bracelet to Grant, it would probably mean more to him now, because of the memorys it holds. Cheers Mish and thanks for getting my feet wet! Hooray!

I feel that more women will watch me for a while and when I dig something up their curiosity peeks and just have to know what I've found, LOL... I love my Legend, it's a silver magnet. My silver finds last year were 212. Test the recovery speed settings, you have to swing slowly so the machine can get separation between targets. If you're in an area with few targets at all, you can turn the speed down and keep swinging at normal speed since you don't need separation.

What a dream spot! Hope to find a Florin one day but not yet detected on territories where those coins were used. Would I be too pedantic to say that the zone appeared to be more of a recently stripped place, where coins had accumulated (as they spanned over 70 years) and got stuck due to the heavy sand, rather than an actual spill? Elsewhere, the black sand was much deeper below the surface. Either way, was there with you Mish as those beautiful silvers came up. 🙂

Possibly a bit of both (target accumulation and/or spill). The lower sand hasn’t moved much however the top yellow layer has indeed changed in height over the years. Cheers Paul 😊

G’day Paul, I actually won that container in a raffle 😂 but they’re available from diving stores and even the likes of eBay (eBay will have them cheaper). This particular one has had a little water intrusion from time to time so maybe consider it “splash proof” instead, the ones that screw shut and have larger O-rings seem to be more effective. 😉 Cheers!!

I wonder if my guess is right: They're old. They're uncommon. And most of all, they're 50% silver. : )

They were quite valuable back in their day, and were the highest value coin in pre-decimal (not including the crowns, which only came out across a few years). Adding on to Tana’s comment, the post-1946 coins were 50% silver however the earlier ones were 92.5% silver and a beautiful coin regardless of year or design. I hope that helps! 😊

The pinpointer is a Nokta PulseDive, it's also a hand-held diving detector if I swap the end over: collabs.shop/exw1yd I like using that one for sand hunting as the hard plastic cap is a replaceable component, meaning that it stands up to repeated use in gritty sand and around the edges of rocks.
