great shout indeed; Volodos is a master technician and I can think of no better example of something that sounds harder than it actually is. Fits under the hands so well, it's no wonder he looks like he's having fun all the time

Where tf is ChatGPT getting the data from? The f*cking Association of Modernistic Atonal Composers?

please tell us about Chopin's method . This method is on KZbin and on Patreon, but due to my inexperience I can’t understand a lot of things, this method is based on the correct biomechanics developed by Chopin

I think none of ChatGPT's choices were bad choices, which is reasonable considering that it's essentially just summarizing ( / plagiarizing?) the work already done by lots of people. It's also interesting that these are all solo piano works, which I think helps narrow the field. Still, there were a few surprises, and I think ChatGPT's list reveals a few biases we have as an audience, as well. - Alkan, Rachmaninoff, and Scriabin, aren't on the list anywhere. In terms of technical demands or stamina, even just limiting it to solo piano work, there are a lot of pieces by both that I thought would be up there (e.g. Rachmaninoff's 2nd Sonata or the Chopin Variations, Scriabin's 5th sonata, Alkan's Concerto for Solo Piano, among many others) - Having Chopin's etudes on the list but not Godowsky's arrangement of those same etudes is a bit of a confusing choice if ChatGPT were going by "difficulty" alone. That seems more like ChatGPT is reflecting human biases against arrangements of previous works or transcriptions (Volodos's paraphrase of Mozart's Turkish March, Cziffra's arrangement of Rimsky-Korsakov's Flight of the Bumblebee, etc.)

On Sorabji's work: "it's not only terribly difficult for the pianists but also quite challenging for The Listener" Was that a cheeky diss? 🤣

I'd say, no one cares because it's art not sports, and secondly EVERYTHING is hard to play WELL, and by well I mean with great actual artistry, artistic imagination, sense of style and good taste. Nobody cares if you play the right notes, because nobody cares about a mediocre classical musician at least if he/she doesn't play a PHRASE every now and then that makes the listener inspired, laugh and cry at the same time internally. I'm a teacher/pianist and been playing the piano for 35 years.
