Having a couple of cinquecentos i pucked up some knowledge from dean here on the rear hubs👍 Brake pipes are simple to do and the tool looks like a wrench with a die in it. A pipe cutter and bender and box of fittings will last you forever (all in about £50) i was like you, afraid of brake pipes but when shown, it's a simple process. I bought a roll of copper pipe in the motorfactors and did a couple of practice bits first 😊👍🇮🇪 Clear the sunroof drains with that wire the old ladies used to hang net curtains with, works a treat and cheaper than anything else 😊 All fiat's leak oil somewhere, if it's not leaking it means there's none in there 😮👍🇮🇪

Dean looks after my 1996 Cinquecento Sporting. A good guy and I would recommend him to anyone with a Fiat. I have a feeling you’ll be spending a few quid with there. Also how did you get him and the workshop to yourself? That place is normally rammed!

Don't you worry Rob, some of the issues in this video have already been addressed , and some of the others will be sorted in the future. To be honest, the list looks worse than it is. Thanks for watching. As the car stands now, though, I reckon it would be able to get through an MOT (well, once it has the correct tyres) as the offside front brake pipe has been replaced, and with a bit of help, I stripped down, cleaned and re-built the rear brakes with new shoes and wheel cylinders. That wasn't filmed unfortunately due to time constraints (repair work takes me considerably longer to film as I have to film it myself whilst doing the work) and the fact I wanted to properly focus on what I was doing without having the added task of presenting to camera. I SHOULD be doing some modifications next week, providing there is a spare ramp in the workshop and I will be aiming to film that.

Is it beyond economical repair ? unless your going to do some of the work apart from the welding yourself.

Hi Steve, thanks for watching. The offside front brake pipe has been replaced and with some help I've stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the rear brakes with new shoes and wheel cylinders - that wasn't filmed, though. I've also replaced the cam cover gasket and the coil pack seal, that was a nice, easy fix.

It's not actually that bad to be honest. The offside front brake pipe has already been replaced, and with some guidance I was able to strip, clean and rebuild the rear brakes with new shoes and wheel cylinders. The rocker cover gasket and coil pack seal have been replaced, the tyres have been replaced. I can't weld unfortunately, but one of the guys at my work can, so that's all good. The problems that will be left over following that won't be major. Thanks for watching 👍🏽

@@musoseven8218 Yeah if I didn't work in the trade and if I wasn't able to do some of the work myself I wouldn't have committed to the car in the first because let's face it, it's a nigh-on 24 year old FIAT, it was always likely to need work. That's fine, though, as I wanted a project that would allow me to gain more mechanical experience without costing an arm and a leg and being too complex. So far, I've done the majority of the work myself, but I know when there is a job best left to the pros (brake pipe and welding as examples). This project has also enabled me to learn how to replace tyres, which was rewarding. It's not a difficult process, but it's nice to have that in my skillset. Yes, I have Monique and she's pretty easy to work on, but for the time being she's not wanting for much at the moment (touch wood) and I wanted something fresh for the channel.
