I still maintain that this is Gemili's best ever 100m. He hasn't executed a better race since.

@@p0wer.pr0ductionz I don't have the stats at hand, but I'm almost certain those were windier than +0.1. I know for sure that the 9.97 was +2.

He's got the same block exit technique that Gatlin has where he drags his toe on his second step to get his second foot down 1st. And a lengthy drive faze. Looks like almost 35-40 meters. And that transfers down the rest of the track.

Aaron Ernest could have won if he had a better start

debatable since Gemili had the world-leading time for juniors, but also you can tell from 6:35 that Gemili had already won based on how he got out the blocks, the 100m race is primarily about accelerating as fast as possible and getting to your top-end speed and holding it to the finish. In the start Gemili had 15 strides before looking up, whereas by that same time Ernest had only taken 12.5/13 strides and in that time Gemili had built up his lead due to having more strides to push himself forward and accelerate instead of wasting time in the air and all he had to do was get to top speed and maintain it. In the 200 you have more time to catch people down the stretch so don't have to be the best starter but in the 100 if you have a start where you're wasting time with having your strides too long off the ground you're going to always play the catching game, it's why Tyreek Hill had a better start because he was at least smaller and lower to the ground vs Ernest being taller, but then Tyreek's running technique at least his arms were all over the place and I know why, I play Football but also had to learn how to run as a track runner (soccer for Americans) and in Football as well as American football it's mainly about being able to change direction fast and changing speeds as instead of one quick burst and then done, so Tyreek runs like that but anyone who knows running knows if you throw your arms side to side your legs will do the same instead of how Gemili was running where all the energy was focused in going forward whereas Hills was more side to side and you could see towards the end he was struggling somewhat and lost 3rd place I believe

@@BourneIdentity45 could have said the same thing for Trentavis Friday as I still believe that had he not false started at USA juniors he would have broke the world Junior record and broke it again at world juniors

@@BourneIdentity45 no he didn't. This was all back in 2014 but no he didn't he got 10.00 in the heats of USA juniors which is now still the 2nd fastest 100m by a junior behind Trayvons 9.97. but in the final Trentavis false started and got disqualified which ment he couldn't do the 100 at world juniors

@@Ben05866 ah damn thats gotta be one of the most annoying things to do especially when its basically your one and only chance to break it at the world juniors when the world is watching, it's weird cause I cant find any of his recent info whether he went to college or not, whereas someone like Noah Lyles he's been in the spotlight ever since was running at the Olympic trials at 18 I believe I could be wrong, but I remember him and one other person both still in high school and Noah has gone onto do some really good things in the diamond league. It's hard to keep track of events and certain runners, In my opinion ever since Usain Bolt left there's been less of a spotlight on athletics/track and field regardless of how good the next generation of talent are. Cause in a sense he was a once in a lifetime type of runner and people would either watch to see how fast he could push himself or to see if anyone would ever be able to beat him on the biggest stage. and tbh the new wave of athletes don't have the same charisma or pull he had
