what's sad to me is that it's very evident based on what they've said in their album/book/videos that they both want the same thing when it comes to a relationship. and for scott, who spent a long ass time trying to get over mitch it's just crazy how they're both probably going to be together in the end. just because they're honestly and truly never going to find anyone else that treats them with as much respect as they have for each other. they're never going to laugh as hard or feel as good. because sex is one thing, and people always come and go. but actually making a deep connection / bond with someone like scott and mitch have takes fucking yeaaaars and tbh i don't think either of them got that kind of patience. some part of me thinks they're desperately looking for each other in the people they try to 'date' (if we even want to call it that bc idk how far it goes or doesn't go). and whenever that person reveals that they're not as much like HIM as they thought, they drop them. or maybe they're not actually looking for anything serious because their emotional needs are already being met by their friendship. it's possible they're only looking to meet sexual needs. i mean, personally i'd probably think long and hard before dating a person who lived with their 'best friend' who they've allegedly dated in the past. especially not as they still live together like they do. i'd feel stupid for even trying to encroach on what they already have. i'd feel left out and mostly sad that i could never have that kind of connection with someone. and i know right now both of them are so over the idea of being together. they want something fresh since they're basically the same person. but the world is not loving and its incredibly hard to find people outside of your family/close friends to really and truly care for you if they don't already have a good reason to. i'm 100% here for their eternal happiness and i really wish scott and mitch all the best in finding respective partners, but idk something tells me they already have. #sorry

This is an incredible documentation. They probably don't remember all these details. They have each been "part of the self-definition" that they each have and their bond is very precious. It reminds me of RomCom where people can't see what is in front of them but they eventually do. Ouch, this comment really resonates with me. I agree with what you've said to every little detail. Of all the opinions, yours seems to sit well the most with me. I've personally had a couple friends in the past that I felt this way towards (not as strong of a connection as these two have, but close enough that I can feel this comment personally). And I would think to myself, "God, if only I could find a man like him." And it's so painfully obvious; why NOT him? Why have I strictly told myself it could never be them? I could say yeah, our relationship could be ruined in the future. But why am I assuming it would fail before anything even happens? Am I that terrified of losing them? Doesn't that just prove how much they mean to me? Then I look at these two and at these random videos that pop into my feed and I sometimes genuinely get so emotional. Because I'm so stuck in the past of what could have been. But then I think of what could be in the future and I'm like yeezus please continue that close bond because you're absolute soulmates.

This was great! It also shows that they were together in 2009 a lot longer than they indicated. The love texts start in May 2009 and go through the early part of Jan 2010. Than a large gap until April when the trio begins making music together.

My favorite part is when they were asked to share their first kiss. I think both of them immediately thought of their first kiss together, not their first kiss ever. Their reaction was so cute! Mitch is a lot more open these days and would probably answer that question. Scott comes out with some wild things now and then, but he still doesn't talk much about their relationship. I suspect it is good friends with benefits when neither of them is dating anyone else.

Hmmm. This feeds into my theory about them. My theory was that Scott has fallen deeply in love with Mitch, but seeing as Mitch might either not want to settle down or may just want to live life to the fullest while Scott wants to be in a serious relationship (don't know, just speculating), and that they really don't want to get too deeply involved with each other and risk causing a potential rift in the band if it all went south combined with obviously not wanting to lose one another forever to romance gone south, they've just decided that it might be better for everyone to stay as platonic as possible. Besides, what they have goes beyond the love a couple might have. They are always going to love each other totally, and forever even if they aren't in a relationship.

Well, Mitch is now single... I actually had a thought very different, I thought that Mitch was very attached to Scott but maybe not as assured and confident as him, so he just let things flow. As we all know, Scott is way more of an extrovert than Mitch and he quickly found a boyfriend when Mitch did have Beau but I just guess it's harder for him to get to know other people when he's kind of shy and relies on old friends more.
