You’re spoiling us! As someone on the go for my job, I’m loving the ideas this video (and your others like it) give me for meals on the quick. Travel or for work. The casual, laid-back format is perfect, by the way. No one’s perfect and to see you show us how to be productive even when things are crazy is super motivational. 💪 Thanks for another great video in the Chapin-verse!

My husband is a commercial pilot and packing meals is tough. Something you might find helpful is packing an old school ice pack bag and freezing it solid, then you can fill it up with ice at the hotel for the rest of your travel. (Note, I believe it has to be frozen solid when going through security.)

Yes I can relate. I also travel a bit for my work and I find it very difficult to eat properly without spending too much. I often go to the local supermarket and stock up in the mini bar. Thanks for these ideas!

What I love about farmers markets is that I can get different varieties of garlic or other veggies than you get at a supermarket, you can get heirloom varieties. Yes, it is moire expensive but the beauty of the veggies is so much better. This week is Farmers Market week at the supermarket I work at and the tomatoes are so boring - yes, are they Jersey tomatoes? Yes, but they are all the same variety, just huge regular tomatoes. Why don’t they have heirloom varieties in different colors and shapes?? Same with broccoli or peppers. That is the reason to go to the farmers market, also you are spending your money with small farmers who need the money to stay alive. Last week I went to the farmers market in Hackettstown, NJ (20 min from my house) and I got sweet potato leaves! They taste a little less strong than spinach but they cook the same way. I also got jowl bacon from a small farm here in NJ. So different from normal bacon. Yes, it was $4 more than a supermarket brand but it was so different and delicious. You can’t get either of those at the supermarket. Use your local producers! Well worth it.

Whenever we travel we try to book a hotel that has a fridge and microwave. Plus try to get one that includes breakfast. We recently did this on a trip to NYC. Saved us hundreds of dollars for the 4 of us.

I think that your food is going to hold up just fine. I think you said you were thinking of putting your cooler into your checked bag, but I'm not totally sure. If that's the case it'll definitely be fine for a two hour flight. It gets so cold in the cargo area.

I'm a retired federal employee, and I did this all the time when traveling. If possible, we would make a stop at a grocery store. We got a set amount of money by location regardless of what the available meals cost.
@joannemott712 ай бұрын
I think with the amount of travel that Jen does she must get sick of eating out. I know I would specially if it’s more than two days. The other benefit of doing this is being able to come back to your hotel room and not have to leave lol specially after a long day. Just my opinion as long as the food is good 👍.

If taking food as a carry-on on a plane, be prepared to have your cooler packs confiscated by TSA…it happens! (I lost mine)
@TastingParty2 ай бұрын
A bit of a warning about Factor: my experience is the food is delicious but on more than one occasion, my order was short a meal or 2 with not notification as to why. I didn’t notice a credit to my account because of the items that didn’t ship so I called, they said they ran out of the item I selected. They then offered a credit to my account but I requested a refund. So if you are shorted in your order make sure to contact them. Oh, and one more thing, make sure all your items are completely sealed. I requested refunds for items received that were not sealed. While I loved the food, it was a bit of a pain so I cancel my future orders.

@liteicedcoffee2 ай бұрын
@@Jen-ChapinAssuming you have all the documentation from your doctor to show the infusion is necessary, you may consider going forward with the infusion and appealing the denial of coverage to the Iowa Insurance Division. It's a bit of a gamble, and check to make sure you have a qualified insurance plan, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. You deserve to feel better!

@Jen-Chapin that is awlful...I have worked in the same business as you since 1981..things have changed so much..long time back .(I had to quit my job in 2016 due to a cervical spine injury)...used to be what ever the doctor said ...it was covered by insurance..no questions asked..I also don't understand why in the world the doctors wouldn't be able to see that such treatment wasn't necessary..🤬🤬🤬 I wish you luck...and I will also pray for you..Jen, be blessed always 🙌
