I’d recommend an AT2020 usb or XLR version or the Samson Q2U which has both. The Samson is a dynamic mic which will have a boomy close up pick up pattern and the Audio Technica is a condenser which will be more “accurate” depending on the type of singing.

Yeti makes good mics but noobs don’t know how to use them (talking to the wrong side/end). This is a budget mic, the Yeti is not :) You can mount the yeti to a boom arm, this you can’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Turn the gain down a little. Make sure noise cancellation is off, and it should work. Also check out the Samson Q2U - way better for that use.

I just got this for my iPhone 15. I’m not sure if all apps are compatible with it and in the manual it even said Facetime was not supported. But I was able to record a video directly on my phone in the camera app. Unfortunately I had to unplug the microphone to hear the video. I do have a computer but I did not need to use it to record with the microphone.

Check your sound output device. There’s a headphone port on the back of this which it may be switching to. You can set the default sound output in windows by clicking on the volume icon on the taskbar and then the pull down.

@JLaw954 where does your sound come out of right now in the PC? Desktop speakers? There is a sound output port on the microphone that windows is probably moving as the default when you plug in - thus you get no sound. I bet if you plugged headphones in you’d hear the sound there. To avoid this, change the default sound output back to the rear PC audio.

The RTX has broadcast tools which can reduce background noise in any application. Otherwise you can use some audio filters in OBS if you’re streaming in it to clean up audio.

@@TheNetGuy True a download link/usb drive with something like Levelator or one of the live soft compressors or AL noise reduction software to remove Gain Hiss and ambient noise like some OBS plug ins I have played around do. I guess you could always put a female 1/4 female nut/adaptor on the base with epoxy or superglue.
