Honestly last weeks “listen and don’t judge” episode was one of my favorite videos I’ve ever watched on KZbin ever!

I think we only see how mature and grown up that Annica is so when some of us listened to the “we listen and we don’t judge” we were a little blindsided. I absolutely LOVE you girls and I almost commented last week to say it didn’t show her in the best light… but then I put on my 30 year old hat and reminded myself she is EIGHTEEN!!! Lord have mercy if I had a podcast at that age. Keep on trucking Annica! If you have reached these heights of character at that age, I cannot wait to see the woman you become!!!

I really appreciate you guys giving some context to last weeks' comments but also standing your ground on keeping a positive atmosphere around your content. I would never want y'all to be anything other than authentic and that means sometimes not coming across in the best light, but that's real life... we all have those moments and those parts of our personalities! It's tough to be so young and have your life under a microscope with social media, but we know AJ's heart and know she's doing her best ❤️ If there's someone out there who hasn't had a harmlessly questionable moment in life, please step forward bc they'd be the first 😂

As a fellow teenage girl, who is very much like annica and just trying to figure out life i find it appalling that people in the comments ate being rude to her. I see through it and Annica is an amazing young woman, everyone has bad days and sometimes things can come across not as intended!! People are grasping at air to upset you and cause issues. You did nothing wrong and i LOVED that episode. don’t let them affect you girl. be yourself because that’s the absolute best you can do. I see you and hear you

It was so nice to see that side of you girlies last week. It is realistic and applicable to most mother-daughter relationships (there’s a 40 year age gap between my mom and I, but I definitely relate). Loving the podcast, you’re doing amazing!!
@Bellbingbong2000

I think the conversation about Annica was interesting and constructive for both the viewers and you guys! I think two things can be true at once: Annica can have come across as slightly disrespectful and rude whilst she was having a bad day, and we can recognise that she's at her most comfortable around you so is certainly less guarded with how she talks. It's important to be open with each other because, in reality, as a podcast audience, if we find listening to the way someone talks to be jarring or not the best experience, then it's important to share that with the creators! Of course, we don't know Annica the way you do, and she is 18 but these kinds of conversations can be important for growth on all sides in helping to understand how you perceive people/how you are coming across. Separately, I think the crux of the issue also revolves around how you discuss money and spending. Whilst Annica works hard and works full time, there could be some more sensitivity around spending as she is young, and it came across as flippant/bragging. Again, I understand she works hard and now can spend like she couldn't before, but when it comes to money, there is a certain tone that can come across as wrong. I think when it comes to disposable income for things such as coffee, nails, and buying things for yourself on a whim, it helps to be realistic that that is a privilege and to many those are special treats rather than something to laugh about. Love you both, and glad that this conversation has happened!

I found last weeks episode hilarious. Now, I’ll be honest lol. Some of the convo was triggering but insofar as like me remembering being 18 and just knowing I could not be that open with my mom at that time. I was watching and was laughing but also sometimes went oh no no but mostly cause I kept picturing how my mom would react when I was that age. I couldn’t really joke around, I honestly sometimes couldn’t be honest! I much prefer my relationship with my mom rn as a 30 yr old. So yeah, I was like oh yes I am reminded that Annica is a kid (legal adult yes) and she feels comfortable to be herself around her mom. The good, the tired, the sassy lol. And that’s a beautiful thing!

I definitely was admittedly triggered by the Abraham Lincoln comment then the food waste comment. Because my grandmother lived with the last enslaved member of my family and because I was heavily food insecure when I was younger. But I didn’t name call, which is probably why my comment was left up. Also, “not my daughter, you bitch” is a b s o l u t e l y an iconic line that has always stuck with me! I always wish u had a mom like Molly

Some of us that might be, ahem, further along on our journey of healing and maturity see that nothing but parenting goals. 👏 Also, gen z really has the thickest skin when it comes to hate comments, I'm amazed at their tenacity as a generation.

My brother is the same way as annica that when she speaks she's very direct and upfront and to the point. Doesn't mean they're being rude, its just the way they express themselves. My mom was 18 when I was born so we’ve never had a traditional mother daughter relationship- there have been times where people have thought I was being disrespectful towards my mom and tried to but in and say things like “ don’t talk like that to your mom” etc when people just didn’t understand our relationship or our mannerisms around each other. People just don’t get it and shouldn’t try to parent when your mom is right there.

Obviously, the Wizard of Oz is also considered source material, where that ties into Wicked is at the very end of the musical. Also, not to promote bootlegs of broadway, but there are thousands of good ones to watch. If you don’t want to read the books, the Wicked website had tons if background info too!💚💖

i just wanted to say in regards to the “we listen and we don’t judge” video and comment that i made myself. it was out of concern for AJ as a viewer who does not know full context or her as a day to day human being and one who has experience in mental healthcare. little bits i’ve caught of her “imperfect moments” are concerning because ocd habits or tendencies can become a very debilitating disorder if left unaddressed. No judgement here, only concerned big sister vibes lol i’ve watched yah’lls youtube channel for years and absolutely love watching you both grow as mother and daughter. love yah’ll. ❤

I genuinely don't think people were trying to be negative or nasty when they pointed things out about Annica. Most viewers actually enjoy the content, so it's a little disappointing to see Annica's lack of accountability. Unfortunately, it's impossible to have a productive conversation with someone who consistently makes excuses for their actions. But, we can always learn and grow.

This. J&A is one of my favorite channels, but listening to anyone, whether they are 5, 12, or 18 years old, speak that way to their parent just isn’t enjoyable. The comments I saw were mostly reactions from people who were genuinely caught off guard by the things Annica said confidently without any sense of remorse. But I also understand this is just a podcast that I can easily skip out on if it isn’t what I want to listen to. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@@aly6596 right! I was caught off guard by that (I didn’t comment) and again by today’s response. My teenage niece listens because I recommended but I have removed it from her playlist and social media, not the example I want for her… She’s not too much younger than Annica. No hate, We do love J&A, I watch every vlog, but she is young & impressionable.
