curtains call is really good!! 5 and a black, but has undaunted (costs 1 less for each opponent), so it really only costs 3. its an instant that destroys two target creatures. not super flashy, but it works great

The best part about Baleful Mastery is that it doesn't when have to be the same opponent. If one player's been doing well all game, exile their best card and give a card to whoever's struggling.

I really like Hex and Malicious Affliction. Hex is funny, because it used to be seen as a bad card back in the day when I started EDH, because you'd have to target your creatures with it, because people usually had less creatures on board or had more protection. These days it feels like a tactical nuke.

hex is one of those cards that i saw when i first started playing mtg and thought it was so broken

A few i would mention are: 1. debt to the Kami and pharikas Trunk. Both are cheap Instants that make an opponent sac a creature or an ENCHANTMENT. black does not have many other ways to get rid of enchantments. 2. Defile is a cheap 1 mana removal that (in a mono black deck) gets better the longer the game lasts and hits enen those pesky indestructible creatures. 3. Cannibalize is a cool sorcery that exiles a creature for just 2 mana whit the small drawback of giving another creature 2 +1/+1 counters. 4. Overwhelming remorse and muderous cut can both easily become 1 mana destroy/exil target creature spells 5. Brainspoil might be a bad removal, but if at the moment you dont need it you can use it as a tutor to get something else that cost 5 mana out of your deck 6. Pile on is another 4 mana kill spell that you can convoke, and it too surveils

I threw Baleful Mastery in a deck because it was there and I needed a removal spell. Every time I draw it the card is fantastic. I bought a bunch more right away.

Retribution of the Ancients needs a mention if you're doing anything with +1/+1 counters. Put counters on your things and then use those counters to remove other things.^^ B to cast, B to activate, and a mere $.40 for a copy. Also works wonderfully with Astarion's Thirst.

Vraska's Contempt is a pretty decent removal that exiles creature OR planeswalker and triggers lifegain things.

Astarion's Thirst is one of my favorite ways to remove threats and buff up my Korlash. NOBODY expects you to make your hits-hard voltron Commander suddenly 6 or 8 counters bigger, even with 4 mana open.

Not really up to date with American prices as I'm from the EU but single target removal tends to be inefficient with three opponents so if I really have to play it, I'd rather it be as cheap as possible in terms of mana such as Murderous Cut or Slaughter Pact. Good mention on Lethal Scheme as it can easily be cast for 0 mana, same deal for Pile On. If I do have to spend mana, stuff that hits each opponent is great, like Flare of Malice or Soul Shatter, there's plenty like these at instant speed that make all opponents sacrifice and the like.
