I am a musician and I have to say that truly honorable people are the rest of RHCP members. They had great capacity and patience dealing with John's self-centric behaviour and Josh's lacking some education in music for such a long period. I DO respect Josh's personality though. According to Josh's latest interviews, John apologised his past behaviour via e-mail to the RHCP staff. I really love John's guitar playing, but even after he was recieved a huge help from this band, the stadium arcadium era showed he was creating negative energy within the band.

AlphaConn I love the chili peppers and guitars and music and shit but I’ve no idea what a hammer is. I’m gonna go along with it anyway, John is and was an insane guitarist and their version on the boat was crazy good because it was so raw and stuff. He didn’t really realise his string was out of tune til the end of the song cause they were really quite high (as one does in Amsterdam) but that’s rock and roll as fuck. Hope you enjoyed this tipsy explanation, good night x

What is very clear is that Josh knows he can’t replace John, he is open about this, he is an amazing guitarist, but that is Johns Place in life, and the band can’t be the same without him as he is the fourth piece of Purity in the band. Josh hopefully will make a place for himself as a piece in a different band to then become his very own piece of purity of which can’t be replaced. All love to him and John, and I thank John for helping me escape Reality, and Josh for being the very best person that could ever fill in for John, they both have different styles, but they both have a style which is what matters most ❤️

I used to compare John to Josh, John is one of my favorite guitarrists I've ever heard, used to think Josh has nothing to do, now that I've heard more from Josh, I just can say how good he is has never been mentioned here, he has a great timing, his tones are simply awesome, and have the power to make the people crazy. But I always felt that he is so alone in the concert, sometimes i feel only flea and sometimes Anthony cares about him, but sometimes I feel they are just like that xd, they don't care much about being a team, they just are them in their parts, but unconsciously they make one of the best team works ever made. Simply amazing.

When Josh first took over, honestly I wasn't too sure especially because John was such a big part of the Chili Peppers. But in the last few years especially since The Getaway, Josh has grown with the band amazingly, and I've seen them twice. During live performances, I've noticed that Josh has always been like an earlier John, and now Josh kinda follows how John sings and plays his guitar, even Josh's writing has devolved nicely. Take I'm With You album Vs The Getaway, and you can tell just in that time Josh is as amazing as John, but John will forever be remembered by all the fans!

Josh is damn good at sounding like frusciante yet doing his own thing. Nobody can cover a chili peppers song (from John) as well as josh. I suppose playing his songs as your career helps. But seriously josh is an incredible talent I just wish he could have become huge as a guitarist in his own band so we could have had a brand new musical entity. But I’m grateful we got what did from him. I understand his two albums with RHCP didn’t satisfy him, but I’m with you really holds up as a phenomenal rhcp record, one that I will always go back to.

Dave Navarro was way better as a replacement. Josh was cringe

Frusciante is one of my all-time favourite guitarists, but you gotta admit that Josh did very well here...even to the point of playing it better than any John F live version of this song that I've ever heard. Well done Josh!

looking back, Josh does Under The Bridge far better the Frusc nowadays. I mean the tone is closer to the album, he adds hammer ons and little extra notes to add to the melancholy. Its a little quicker, brighter. It just feels more in tune to the vibe of BSSM and is far more energetic. Honestly most songs Josh played he did we far more energy and spunk which made them far more enjoyable.
