I actually love how the bass is such an integral part of the music. It's isn't a background instrument, it's so important and just as well heard as any of the instruments on stage. So awesome, flea is badass.

he was friends with Frusciante earlier and jammed with them before. so he isn't exactly a new guy. they seriously lucked out having him available. John saw the escape route and took it. its his choice and makes sense for him. Josh just gets it and makes the transition seamless. i just don't care for the lyrics on most of the new stuff. i prefer instrumental stuff anyways. like Ozric Tentacles, Maserati, COm Truise, Brownout, Trans Am......add those to your pandora and take off!!!!!!

I love several things about this video: 1. How he comes on stage jumping around like crazy and the roadie just puts a bass over him 2. Red Hot Chili Peppers play a green drum kit 3. Crowd goes wild on the drum drop, cool crowd 4. lol no not cool crowd, it took them until the guitar riff kicks in until they screamed because the band plays Can't Stop 5. then they make up half the song while they play it 6. in the end the drummer throws his stick up quite high and looks after it like "hmmmm where'd it go"
