So this guy pranked his own company, claimed it was political, invented a fake company to take credit for it, and then assumed another identity to execute more pranks. Did he appear in any of the Metal Gear Solid games?
@theguardian83175 жыл бұрын
he didn't claim it was political at first. As usual it was gamers and the media. He just exploited the naivety of these socially challenged groups to crank up the volume to 11, but yeah it sounds like he could be one of those crazy characters in MGS2

@@0JuBiii Streets of SimCity also had that feature. And though these games are from 1996 and 1997 respectively, is there a newer city-building simulator that has a spinoff game where you can do that? If there is, I don't know it.

The Quintessential Trickster. I'm amazed nobody made a feature film after this story, the premise is hysterical.

A well put together mini-documentary. Another piece of trivia: although to my knowledge Servin didn't use the term "himbo" in any of his interviews about SimCopter, subsequent articles about the hack led to early uses of that word.

i still think this is one of the most replayable games ever, and it's absolutely unique and one of the games i want to make one day is base on the same concept, with endless freedom and procedurally generated quests that you can take or leave. I seriously cannot believe no one made a game in this vein again to this day.
@Cowboycomando542 жыл бұрын
There was another lesser known easter egg in the game where there was a random chance that your bambi-bucket would pick up a swimmer. This was a reference to the old urban legend.
@fenriswolflp-verlierenmits59528 ай бұрын
I remember that I was afraid of that as a child. Because that swimmer you pick up made weird noises. Weirder than other people in the Sim world. I always dropped him over the fire with the water. Most of the times I had a medical rescue then. xD

I stopped watching after he said, "Primitive 3D cities" @0:25. Like bruh looking in retrospective this primitive 3d cities is revolutionary in the 1996 heck even in 1996 there were only a few games that has this full city in 3D.
