One of the best sayings I've discovered this year is, "Vintage Vibes, not Vintage Values". And I love that balance that you provide with your channel. No pretending that you don't live in the modern world, no shaming of modernity. A realism balanced with love of the old ways that still are relevant. And I so appreciate it. Wishing for you abundance, prosperity and joy now and in the years to come.

Yes, it’s one of my favorites, too! Dandy Wellington did a good thing bringing that phrase into the world! 🥰

Vintage values were higher than today's values. The word has gone backwards these last twenty years but that happeneds in History all the time and things will hopefully return to a more sensible way than the me me me generation

I have two very old ornaments from my grandma. They are over 100 years old. My grandma and her parents did not have a Christmas Tree until she was about 6 yeaars old. The story she told me was that after buying their Christmas tree my great grandpa took her to the bigger town near them and they picked out ornaments for the tree. It was a wonderful memory for her. This would have been around 1920. I still have them and they have a special place on the tree every year.

I'm glad you "push yourself to do something that people used to do" and to that end, you have definitely earned your place as a wonderful content creator... having put so much effort into all that you have done over these several years. I've tried some baking that you've shown here... in my apartment kitchen, and I've cursed my lack of space, but it always works out in the end. I told you once before your videos are some of the most calming on KZbin, and that rings true to this day. Nice to see and hear the person behind the content.

I loved everything about this video. I do all the videos you make but this change was so sweet. Just nice casual conversation. Remembering to be childlike keeps the wonder alive in a world that can become to difficult. Keeping the ordinary from becoming ordinary is a gift and you are a special person to be able to see that. Also to treasure what traditions or just the ways in which those before us did things helps keep us grounded! Grateful and thankful. So glad you have found what has helped you to feel calmer. My grandson is highly functioning autistic. I believe he can be successful and happy and bless others as you do! Best wishes

Hello Kayla, I'm so happy to find this video tonight. I had a long and fun-filled day of staying cozy in my home, making handmade Christmas ornaments and hand painting the holiday cards which I will be sending out this week. It's so nice to see others that love to embrace this time of year by creating handmade treasures. I loved hearing the tradition you and your mom started with making ornaments. I have many that my mom and I made. She's now 91 and I'm 65 so they are officially vintage. Haha...thank you again for brightening the days of so many.

I found your channel because of cottagecore, but stayed for the asmr like environment you create and I really appreciate that about your videos. After a long week of work…it’s nice to escape by watching your videos. Thank you for creating such beautiful and calming content. Someday I will have a cozy home and a garden with cats and birds feeding on bird seed. But for now I will enjoy your videos in my tiny little apartment in California.

I'm glad I found your videos. Listening to you talk on here, I've always been like you are. I was alays told I grew up in the wrong era because I like to do things the old fashioned way and not because it's hard, but because it's nostalgic and it's peaceful and definitely romantic. I've always been this way too ... I live my life very similar to how your videos are, except that I usually dress in jeans or summer dresses! All of my food is grown myself and I'm always creating something inside the house.... so I am right here beside you in spirit whenever I watch your videos.

A good way to tell about evergreen trees is, if the "needles" or leaves look braided rather than smooth, then it's probably a cedar or cypress (all the "cedars" that grow native in the US are technically part of the cypress family, including juniper). The blue berried ones you picked up look like juniper. Juniper can have both smooth "needles" and braided looking leaves but it also has those distinctive berries.
