Usually for undercover or surveillance work so criminals won't know if it a cop or just another civilian.

@@Ed-cz6bs Ed, my father battled many addictions over the course of my childhood. That addiction drove him to crime to feed his craving and stave off withdrawal symptoms. This resulted in many prison stays that dried him out and cleared his head, when he'd promise everyone he'd seen the light and things would be different. Then shortly after release the cycle would begin again. What finally did it was a much longer stay in prison after he had robbed a bank and a convenience store then ran from police. It wasn't the prison stay that did it. It was realizing that his addiction had just robbed *him* of seeing his children through their teen years and enter adulthood. That was when he consciously made the choice to remain sober and has been for about 20 years now. Addicts have to choose sobriety because it is a fight they endure long after the drugs are out of their system. Please support anyone that chooses sobriety, any way you can.

This is why we have so many police shootings. Since when is deadly force required right off the bat for a reckless driving charge? The first cop came straight to the window with a gun. They were not in uniform. If a group of dudes came and tried to pull me out, I'm gonna fight like heck too. This isn't because of drugs, this is because the cops use excessive force. 12 cops were only necessary because of the way the cops approached this guy. What's wrong with boxing him in and asking him to get out over a loud speaker? Or politely asking him to get out, or conducting a regular traffic stop. Cause the guy wanted to get away, but he didn't. He thought he could barehand overpower a dozen cops who have weapons. I guess he was on some powerful drugs and was acting very stupid, but honestly, I watch a lot of videos on KZbin like that. Police Activity is a really good channel on the insight on how police officers work and how criminals behave. Criminals resist arrest because they think they get away, or at least hope they could. I even saw videos of criminals aiming their weapons directly at the officers and even shooting at them. They would go as far as they could to avoid responsibility for their actions. It is what it is. Some even like getting into trouble. They think it's a game, terrible.

No, this is a very bad idea. Drug dealers often get ripped off by other drug dealers. This guy is probably going to get off in court by saying, "Hey, I didn't know these guys were cops, I thought they were thugs trying to rip me off." Coming out of the truck with a shotgun in plain-clothes is a good way to get shot when the guy being chased thinks mr. shotgun is a road-rager or carjacker.
