Underground/Overground East London Line, 1991

I was in London at this time, aged 20-21, travelling on the tube extensively. This brings back so many memories.

I don't think any of the A Stocks were refurbished fully into London Underground Complex until 1993/94.

I thought that A stock train in LUL livery received a new interior when it was repainted in 1990.

No, this was the 'demonstrator' liveries for future refurbishment programmes. Interiors were kept as is, although one A Stock car (can't remember number) also received a major refresh inside for potential new features, such as replacing high-back seats with bus-style seats - glad that didn't get approved!

@@MannyAntipov Unit 5032 which was pained blue and white received coach like east in the DM cars and normal purple seats in the trailer and entered service sometime in 1989 and was still running like that as recently as 1996 and I'm pretty sure one of the units painted in LUL livery received a new interior of white hand rails and very colourful seats in August 1990 not sure how long that one lasted though.
