The way Chris creates such an atmosphere with his keys, synths, whatever the hell his magical hands create. It is haunting and beautiful, I am so in love with this era of underoath already.

I think it's even better than that if you look closer at it. This is how an overdose would sound, and the title and the lyrics match. It actually caused me a lot of anxiety as someone who struggled with drug abuse. Being angry at yourself with access to drugs, then limit testing, there's a point where you realize you're in too deep, you're back and forth between panicking and trying to stay calm (which the irregular beat toward the beginning captures nicely) when everything just collapses, you have no control and you don't know if anyone will rescue you (the scream and breakdown around 2:30 until the end). It's a moment of clarity for most, like "man I'm in a bad place, I should ask for help!" but you don't know if you're going to make it through this one. You can't even pick up a phone to call someone you trust. I'm certain from past interviews Spencer has experienced exactly this, as his lyrics throughout his career with the band have talked about drug abuse, loneliness, and how Christians turned their backs on him.

Ive got ten friends and a crowbar has been my favorite U0 song since I first heard it years ago.. to have some form of closure and a continuation of my favorite song is so unexpected and cathartic for me personally. I have grown so much since I heard first that song, and its absolutely amazing how much U0 has grown as a band as well. This album feels so fucking personal from a writing standpoint, and as a fan it's even more personal. Underoath, thank you for coming back. You have no idea how much your music means to people. I would love to hear them go back to the They're Only Chasing Safety sound. The Emo / heavy metal was their best sound looking back and their are no bands out there like that now.
