Our mind is the temple and the antenna. I grew up in the church from childhood through 18. I even stood in prayer circles (Warped Tour Backstage ) with Underoath in High School (private christian school) lol. After I got out I started questioning the church/religion because of how judgmental and hypocritical everyone in the congregation was. They made me feel alone ,depressed and full of rage. Now at 36 im at peace mentally, physically and most of all spiritually with my own family living my best life. I'm so happy they are making music I can relate to again.

I think we tend to mistake what we should have our faith in. We put it in people, but it's God we should put our faith in. If people turn their back on you, don't blame God for that. I feel a lot of people are losing their faith because of other people, and that shouldn't be the reason why anyone turns away from God.
@TylerPlace69x29 ай бұрын
No one is talking about turning from God. God and religion are not one in the same. Religion/Christianity don't dictate one's relationship with the Cosmos within themselves.
@wildcountingdayswithourcan25198 ай бұрын
@@TylerPlace69x2 I completely understand that religion is man made and is separate from God. That doesn't change the fact that people turn from God all the time due to things that happened to them that were caused by other people. Instead of people realizing why something happened and who did it to them, many feel God is to blame or easily lose faith in Him due to the influence of others. I see and hear about it often.

Holy fuck Aaron! Coming in hard, followed by Spencer absolutely annihilating it with the rest of the boys! Might be my favorite off this masterpiece! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 ‘Hey, we're all gonna die, what difference does it make? Don't pray for me and my friends, I think you're fucking fake! Let's be honest, I'm heartless, I could care less… Hey, we're all gonna die, don't pretend to be alive!’ This pretty much sums up how I feel towards religion nowadays. It’s awesome and strange. When I was in church heavy as a kid and into adolescence I listened to UO so much, because it was what I believed in to. It felt like they made me belong, because I was that weird ‘emo’ christian kid. Now their views upon the matter are the same as mine. It’s like we all grew with each other and all experienced the same thing together in a way, that led us all to the same path again. It’s like I’ve grown up with these dudes. I know that sounds cheesy and odd, but it’s the truth.

Dude, same. Crisis of faith followed by struggling with pills, then more isolation and depression after I dropped out of college, eventually spiraling into disassociative abuse...somewhere along the way, somehow, I managed to kick alot of shit, and after still struggling like hell sober, I think I'm starting to get better. After years I've managed to come back around to religion, though it's nothing abrahamic, and certainly not Christianity, and between my new faith that actually helps me rather than reinforcing all my worst thoughts of myself, getting some fucking breaks, connecting and reconnecting with the right people, I'm actually starting to belive little by little that maybe I'm not the irredeemable fuckup who's unworthy of love that I was told, and truly believed I was for so long.

i like how christianity (in its modern form post 400 AD) is largely about this horrible version of a god that couldn’t stand its own creation that it knew wouldn’t be perfect. and made up horrific rules where he would have to make his only son commit suicide to save his wretched creation he somehow claims to love so much where 90% of the world will die where this loving god will torture them forever. these churches then brainwash their followers to accept this kind of message as “hope” lol.

I really enjoy this song, and I’m not by any means saying this to talk shit: but it’s eye opening how treating people shitty instead of reaching a hand out can turn them away from God. Especially when they’re fighting addiction and depressed. I’m sorry that happened to you. I doubt that’s the only reason that Spencer changed his beliefs, but it’s an important eye opener. You all are making great sounding music either way, and I love this album (: No matter what you believe or don’t believe ❤️ I can certainly agree, however, that most (not all) Christian music seems very fake and plastic. Like a glorification of one’s own holiness. Yours never did, though. At least not to me. Before I get crucified in the comments: not pushing my faith, just making an observation!

I grew up on these guys. Based off of the comments in nearly every comment section of their recent video releases, I think I'm the only one who is saddened to hear/see that they've left their faith in the Creator behind. I think it's due to mainstream Christianity not teaching proper doctrine and forgetting how to disciple. The truth of what God's Word actually teaches is the best message mankind will ever receive. I hope these boys seek their Father once again.

I hear you. You aren't the only one. All you can do is love and pray and see what happens. The huge exvangelical movement of the kids of the 90s-00s is partially due to bad formation, church abuses, and also moral relativism becoming more pominent mixed together. Don't be discouraged as there are some youth seeking out the ancient and historical Christian faith in Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy. The ancient liturgies have mostly people under 40 at it. Things will be ok in the long run, but the youth group pizza and weak theology churches still living in 1998 are in trouble.
