My mom and I saw The Family Stone in theaters, and years later, got the rest of the family into it. Now it is one of our holiday traditions. We have so many inside jokes regarding this movie, which is made more absurd around others, given it’s fairly unknown 😂

Aw, I love The Holiday. All of it. But the Kate Winslet and Eli Wallach is my favorite storyline. Next is the Cameron Diaz and Jude Law storyline. It isn't boring. We think he's a player but he turns out to be so much more (don't want to give any spoilers. I've been saving it. Watching it tonight. My favorite movies this Christmas were 3 of Lindsay Lohan's movies 1) Our Secret, 2) Faling for Christmas, and 3) Irish Christmas. I also enjoyed, "Single All the Way" and "Best Christmas Ever," although I would tweak part of the ending for both. All time Favorite Christmas Movies: 1) The Holiday 2) Elf 3) All of Lindsay Lohan's Christmas movies 4) Love Hard (So Good) 5) The one about the Christmas Snow Globe 6) The one where Tyra Banks is a Life Size Barbie 7) The Christmas Calendar 8) Yes, the one with Queen Latifa 9) Best Christmas Ever 10) I don't have a 10th. But of course It's a Wonderful Life and Christmas Story should make any Christmas movie list

I love While You Were Sleeping and Just Friends. While You Were Sleeping is the better movie but Ryan Reynolds and Anna Faris have INCREDIBLE chemistry. In one movie, Sandra Bullock proved to be one of the 3 best actresses in romantic comedies, right up there with Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts. And there is nothing wrong with the circumstances leading to Lucy meeting Peters family. You are so wrong about The Holiday. You're nuts if you can't see that this is one of Cameron Diazs best performances.

The Family Stone is one of my go to Christmas movies. It wasn’t at first. There are scenes that I don’t care for and the romance stories are just side stories to me. After watching it a few times I realized it’s all about the relationship with the mother, who can be terrible, but she’s the one that holds the family together, the family stone. The last scene can be surprising but when you go back and rewatch it, it puts the movie in a whole new light. The setting gives the movie a heartwarming touch. I also find Sara Jessica Parker’s character relatable and the family very judgmental.

I completely agree with your assessment of The Holiday! I love Nancy Meyers' movies, but I've always felt like this was two movies in one. Contrary to other intertwined stories in movies like Love Actually (which I love), the Kate Winslet story with Jack Black and the neighbour would have made an amazing movie on their own. Also, thanks a lot for recommending Last Holiday, I watched it right after your video and I loved it! ❤ Happy New Year! 🎉

Love this video, so many great movies. My fav is The Last Holiday & While you were sleeping. Family Stone was not the fav but I like watching it because it is so cringe in some moments and the characters at least most of them feel real except the ending what was that? The sister comes and bam stuff happens that shouldn't? Weird! I will say that the home feels real the production designs fantastic and was wardrobe. The Holiday I only like Kate's role with he old man. Now back to The Holiday, that is one of the best Christmas movies I have seen.

I will have to give your other selections another go to mix up my seasonal routine! A Christmas movie that shocked me was 8-Bit Christmas, was way better than I expected, not a perfect movie but a fun movie for a kid who grew up in the 80's! Cheers!

The Family Stone is a weird, Christmas, guilty pleasure of mine. I *despise* the family; I think they're stuck-up, judgmental twats masquerading as a "nice, laid-back people." They're absolutely horrible to Sarah Jessica Parker's character, who is supposed to be seen as a sort of a villain but I find her very relatable, particularly about being awkward among strangers and getting your foot stuck in your mouth. She is at least true to herself, albeit trying too hard, which is what gets her in trouble. And then her stupid boyfriend, for which the plot hinges on, falls instantly in love with her boring sister because she's so much more "chill," has the correct opinions and vibes with the rest of his (toxic) family? Ugh. Again, so much of it makes me rage but I'm captivated because of SJP & Luke Wilson story. I like their arc, which somehow redeems things for me. I couldn't agree more about "While You Were Sleeping." I've adored that film since it came out and quote it frequently.

You could not be more wrong about the Holiday. Kate Winslets out of Jack Black’s league and I didn’t buy it at all. Jude and Cameron were the whole reason to watch. It made perfect sense for her to get away from it all - drink too much and jump into the sack with a good looking stranger. I know this from life experiences. The critique of The Family Stone was laugh-out-loud funny. I’ve never known anyone to miss the boat as completely as the reviewer did! What an absolute sewer-explosion of a movie! The family, supposedly “with it” Progressives, is so freakishly judgmental from the outset that one is almost immediately drawn into supporting the rather sad “protagonist.” And the supposed resolution is insultingly contrived. As on reviewer aptly put it, “ With ‘friends’ like this movie, Democrats don’t need enemies.” If you’re into sadistic self-righteousness, you’ll love it.
