Summon Night Swordcraft Story deserves a second lease on life via a rerelease on Switch. And I don't mean just slapping it on NSO and calling it a day, I mean an actual collection with love and care put into it along with the second and third game in the series. (Yes, there's a third one that was only released in Japan, an English version of that would be a huge selling point.)
@mcclintick23 күн бұрын
did you google and see if a English patch exists? lots of Japan only games have English patches for roms to be played by emulation.
@reiswindy17 күн бұрын
The developers of the original Summon Night series (Flight-Plan) went bankrupt on 2010 unfortunately. Nowadays Bandai Namco owns the rights to the IP but after Summing Night 6 they just put it on the freezer :(

there is an ongoing project to translate the third game.
@kasugasawa83913 күн бұрын
no, the third one is not as good as Swordcraft 1 and 2 (i literally learned japanese to play it) maglam lord is an okay game like Swordcraft 3, you need at least 4 months of japanese learning if you want to play the third one because they use easy grammar and vocabs, i don't recommend it though

I'm an obscure games junkie so I'll try not to flex too hard here, but If you want another 10ish to do a part 2 for: Zoids Legacy (RPG, fun mechanics marred by a terrible translation, lots of series-fan service with characters from all 3 animes of the time), Boktai and Boktai II (Isometric action-rpgs with stealth elements not unlike Metal Gear Solid, including knocking on walls), Demi Kids Dark/Light version (Shin Megami Tensei monster collecting RPG) Dynasty Warriors Advance (Top down beat-em-up-ish game with fun art style), Konami Krazy Racers (Mario Kart, but Konami, predating Super Circuit), Rebelstar Tactical Command (Old PC X-com-like game made from some original X-com alumni), and lets end it with Zatch Bell Electric Arena (2d anime fighting game)

My go-to underrated/overlooked GBA games are the Densetsu no Stafy trilogy, which are unique aquatic platformers, and despite only releasing in Japan, don't require knowing the language in order to play all the way through, also, *Absolutely Fantastic* soundtrack on that first game. Iridion II, which might just be the best shmup on the entire GBA, and one of the most stunning audiovisual experiences on the entire GBA. Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichitto Live Start, the 2nd Mermaid Melody game on GBA, it's an uncommonly good handheld rhythm game for the time, with a full soundtrack worth of songs with full lyrics, something unheard of on a handheld game back then, plus a whole story mode, minigames, challenge modes, room customisation, and even writing your own lyrics for a couple songs to be sung by the mascot! Easily one of the best 'girls games' I've EVER played! (Still JP exclusive, but it's not that hard to wrap your head around) Donkey Kong Country 3, the GBA versions get a lot of flack for not being exactly like the SNES originals, but I think they're ALL pretty good versions with some legit advantages over the SNES originals, like saving anywhere, and more visibility, but for the 3rd game they not only NAILED the physics, but the graphics look nice and vibrant, not washed out like the first one, and they also got David Wise to compose a whole new Brilliant soundtrack just for it! The 3rd DKC game is underrated in general, but IMO, the GBA version is the definitive way to play through it. Also shout-outs to Konami Krazy Racers.

GBA Lilo and Stich goes harder way more than it has any right to be. 😆 It's like the devs wanted to make this hardcore Gunstar Heroes/Metal Slug game and the publisher was like, "here's the catch.. you gotta use the Lilo and Stitch IP" and the challenge was accepted. We can make that work!

CIMA the enemy is a really cool hidden gem action rpg on the gba. I had it bet never got far because I had other games like zelda, golden sun and megaman battle network and it started out kinda slow for my taste back then in high-school.
