As usual, very incisive analysis. Regarding Balakot Strike: Balakot is about 60 kms (crow flight) from the Line Of Control (LOC). The IAF used Israeli SPICE glide bombs with 60 km glide range. Thus it is obvious that the Indian planes could deliver these weapons from just along the LOC without entering deep into Pakistani territory, and that is what they did. The bomb crators were about 500 meters short of the Madrassa which was said to be the target. Both the crators were in the line of the target from the direction of fire and were close to each other, which speaks of their accuracy. Such accurate weapons falling short of the target clearly meant that the wrong range was fed to the bombs deliberately to avoid human casualties. Undoubtedly India didn't want escalation. The Pakistanis, in their response adopted precisely the same strategy of hitting an area devoid of any population to avoid escalation. There is little doubt that this so-called Indian strike drama was meant to gain political mileage by the Indian government.

Yes it is today pronounced kashmir by non kashmiri. Even kashmiri too pronounce it as kashmir while talking with non kashmiris. But we(as a Kashmiri) pronounce our territory as kasheer. For example we say I am koshur and I m from kasheer.......if we talk with non kashmiri we for their sake pronounce kasheer as kashmir otherwise we don't pronounce it Kashmir...this is just for information to you

Sir, excellent analysis, from your presentation it appears that China was convinced that India will not respond to Chinese actions based solely on experience with Pakistan, I think this is too much of stretch of an unrelated event to try to fit it in a completely different scenario. Perhaps there were other significant reasons for China to think that India will respond to their aggression.
