Hi my husband has been dealing with hip pain for yrs and the pain has gotten worst. he's physical active. But has gain some weight. He's been diagnosed with moderate degenerative joint disease. And i have moderate joint arthritis in my shoulders which im in a lot of pain. Received shots didnt work well. We decided to change our diet. Veggies and fish no dairy and juicing fresh veg and fruits with ginger and turmeric. Daily exercise for his hips and my shoulders. He's lost some weight. And we dont have as much pain as before and I'm able to sleep better. We're our best avocate.

Phenomenal content. I loved hearing that the three month period after a steroid shot in my hip should be looked at like a window of opportunity. For now, it looks like exercise, weight loss and potentially, PRP therapy might be my path. This video was very comprehensive and understandable for a neophyte. Well done and appreciated!

I found this video to be helpful as I have both knee and hip arthritis. I would like to a similar one for SI joint arthritis as well as facet joint arthritis as I am unfortunate enough to have these as well.

Thank you for the kind words. I’m sorry to hear that you seem to have more than your fair share of musculoskeletal ailments. We do have a video on sacroiliac joint and a video on facet joint arthritis. Here is the link to the sacroiliac joint one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5OWmWele8iVhtE. You can find the facet joint one from the home page of videos for princeton Spine and joint center. It’s called facet joint pain. Thanks for watching.

Ah, thank you! I just found out I have this and I'm 43. I've definitely got inflammation going on because I've been in pain for a month and a half. I'm going for a follow-up appointment in a week. Thank you for the info!

Thank u for making this video. U explained in depth in a way that every patient can understand. Just a quick note to stay safe on line...by being mindful of ur camera angles during recording..or ur choice of back drop in future videos. Not everyone has good intentions....sadly 😢. Many thanks again for sharing ur wisdom & time. From UK 🇬🇧

I’m 26 , I had a hip replacement at age 14 due to avascular necrosis and leg valve perthes . I had two cervical fusion surgeries due to multi level degenerative disc disease , my lumbar discs are beginning to degenerate causing spinal stenosis , now I have pubis symphysis and my knees are starting to degenerate. Those are all of the parts of my body that I have actually had imaging of . But my fingers crack, my left hip cracks , my ankles crack , my elbows crack. And not normally , constantly . I have been tested for all rheumatoid factors only to be left with negatives results and still no answer as to why my body is degenerating . I struggle with many other issues but these are the only ones concerning this topic. What would you suggest I do ? Do I stop trying to find out why ?

Thanks for this info doc. I had total thyroidectomy 5years ago. Does that have to do with my recently discovered degenerative joint disease seen thru an xray? Do i need prescription as it apparently should happen in old age but I am just 35😢

I need to have a physiotherapist take a look at my X-ray. I have had mine for years and years and now it’s just really bad. How do I send a picture across?

My husband has been dealing with chronic pain from djd for years and womt see a doctor anymore because he doesn't want to do surgery and phy6therapy was too painful. He was treating pain with opiates for years and ended up on Suboxone to get off pain meds because he became physically drpendant on them. Now hes clean and his pain is much much worse and he feels like its hopeless because hes not want invasive surgery and no meds for pain. He wont go and have an honest conversation with a specialist because he feels judged. What can he do?

Have him check with his Dr if he can take tumeric. Then I'd suggest he try that. He might not notice it's helping at first but after a month he stops taking it he'll notice his pain is again intolerable.
