I am am 39, I have had hashimotos for 3 yrs…and did ultra sound of my thyroid and it’s swollen so also have thyroiditis but still get intense hot flashes and now panic attacks, I am on levothyroxine and my tsh gets right and then it will be off and they will up my dosage. I pray it doesn’t turn into cancer 🙏 my sister had it and had to have her thyroid removed and life has been hard for her ever since, also my mom had hashimotos before she died from pancreatic cancer. I am tired, lethargic and have gained a ton of weight… this would all be too much for me if Jesus was not my rock. My savior, my hope and my joy. ❤

Did you try giving up wheat and other gluten foods? I did and it has made all the difference.

Very thorough. Thank you. What % of hypothyroid would be Hashimoto? Like many women, it was triggered from child birth. The dr said that a traumatic event like child birth can trigger it.

I had a lot of pain in my neck and noticed it was swollen, I went in because I knew something wasn't right. They decided to do a blood test and an ultrasound of my thyroid. I was diagnosed with subacute thyroiditis. They gave me Ibu 800 for the pain and swelling, which helped. My blood test came back and my TSH was 50, T3 and T4 free were both just a couple points low. I was a little fatigued and had a low appetite, but no other symptoms, other than a swollen thyroid. I'm struggling with being on a pill. I've never been on a daily pill. I'm not a pill taker. But I have noticed that I am more energetic. So that's a plus. Question: Why don't doctors/reseachers check the pituitary gland which tells the thyroid how much hormones to make and send out. From my little understanding, the pituitary gland is like command central for the thyroid. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm trying to understand what happened all of a sudden and why. Thank you!!!

I have been on Armour Tyroid medication for years. My recent TSH and T4 labs were normal but my TPO antibody was 1480 It should be less then 5.6. I have terrible joint and muscle pain all over my body. It's devastating because it lowers the quality of my life. I cant sleep because of the pain and no pain medication helps😢 I live a very healthy lifestyle. Eat a low carb diet, cut out glutten, sugar and all processed foods. Dr Marcum do you have a solution how to lower the TPO? Or if anyone has the same symptoms as I do, please share what you did to get rid of this terrible pain and lower the TPO. I would be very grateful!🙏

do not take toxins and heavy metals into your body via "shots in the arm" or diagnostic contrast dyes. both of these gave me chronic pain all through my body.

Hi Ritadula, we recommend following up with your PCP as they are more familiar with your medical history, however, we may also provide information in a future video. Blessings!

In Australia we say hashimoto, not Har shi moto. An a sound as in apple, I think you say r, as in car.
