I had a lot of fun making this video, it's nice to share something that people might not know about watching a run here and there. All the tech and lingo

So I was on the highway trying to get home in time to watch the stream yesterday... traffic was grid lock. Then all of a sudden I'm smoked from behind by another car, we both get out to look at the damage, buddy's all like oh man can we not involve insurance, I'm like well who's gonna fix it? He says not to worry because he's a body repair professional and he can do all the work himself and he'd just have to pay for the parts, so that's when I asked how much the parts would cost....that's when he says...bout tree fiddy......

Just my humble opinion no hate I loved the video great work as always, I think when you mentioned mfp tunnel, it would of also been nice to say what it stood for I sent this to a friend who asked me after watching it :), don't know if it would of been weird to ref your self in 3rd person tho.

0:36 - its only called an "MFP Tunnel" if you make a 'weeooo!' sound as you fall through it...if you miss that step, there is a backup strat (just called "Tunnel"), but thats a very important player-generated audio cue to time your inputs with...

I did not know that Runaway Bro was a specific bro, I thought it was just a catch-all term for every bro that has annoying movement.

I'm not even into speedrunning that much and still watch you because you're my favorite Mario 3 content creator by far. This was super cool and you're doing god's work with spreading the hobby to people like me.

When I first started watching you and others run the game, I was wondering about certain terminology, like movement of 2, 3, etc. Having something like this for newer players who may not understand the terminology is awesome. Love the video!

Have you asked Retro game mechanics KZbinr about the no hands RNG? He knows how the code for these games works, he may be able to figure out how to beat the hands.
@dingdongism2 жыл бұрын
I think we know how the hands work, but the manipulation is too complex for a human to do. If I remember correctly, it begins at power-on of the console. It’s simply too much, at least with the knowledge and strats we have now.
@turdcalzone76362 жыл бұрын
You have a good way to teach out interesting stuff like this. You should make more of the other Mario games, but I am not aware of how much you are experienced with other games. But good stuff, nontheless!

thats not how statistics stack on world 8. Each hand level has its own 50% chance, they aren't dependent on one another. So with each always having a 50% chance, there is not a 12.5% chance of no hands. The math is much different, you don't just do 50%/2 for 25%/2 for 12.5%
@siffcat75752 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be mean, but you are incorrect. Yes, they are independent of one another, but the math is that easy. Before you start the hands, you have a 12.5% chance of getting 0/3 hands. The percentages chance after each hand. After the 1st hand, you either got it and have a 0% chance of no hands, or you skipped and have a 25% of no hands. If you skip the first 2 hands, you then are up to a 50% chance of no hands, but of course if either or both of the first 2 hands got you, you have a 0% chance of no hands.
@dingdongism2 жыл бұрын
The calculation was correct. Go review your intro to stats notes. The probability of a series of independent events occurring is calculated by multiplying their individual probabilities. Your comment has it exactly wrong.
